Meet Kissi

When visiting Lieksa, the place where we stayed at my aunt's, had another inhabitant who was always keeping company for me and my dad, in case the house was empty.

She is Kissi, and she is a cat. A cat that likes to sleep a lot – the way cats do. She has many places to sleep, some of them are more regular, like a chair, but she also likes to sleep on a human belly.

Sometimes, she would scratch my door at night to get to my bed, but other times, she would sleep in a suitcase.

As you see, she does whatever she likes. Sometimes I ask her a question and all I get back is "miau", a stare or nothing. Like when asking why would she be so eager to a have wet meal only to leave it half way eaten. It makes zero sense to me. Sometimes I would "mau" at her and actually manage to get a "mau" back, though without any idea what I had just said, if anything at all.

I usually prefer cats over dogs, because dogs can be a bit overwhelming at times, whereas cats are calm, but still enjoy human company from time to time. And when they don't, they look upon the world from their cat towers and their human slaves that keep feeding them – just for being a cat.

Though I like dogs too, if they are not too attention seeking. Unfortunately, being a mailman, I cannot help, but have a slight negative bias towards dogs: they always bark when I bring the mail of their masters. Sometimes they spook me when I forget to anticipate them. I know that perhaps not every dog barks at me, but do realize that I have yet to hear a single cat raging at me when bringing the mail.
