My BMW 330Ci Convertible has torque, but TODAY I SHAT MY PANTS IN A BMW M3!!!

in #cars7 years ago (edited)

Today a young fellow invited me to go for a ride in his BMW M3... I have never been in one before, and did not know what was coming. And this was the expression on my face!!!

So a while back I mentioned in one of my posts that I had bought a BMW. I did not want something that was for going to work and buying groceries in. I have an old Mercedes E240 already for doing that, I wanted something for me. Something fun and not practical at all. So I bought a BMW E46 330 Ci Convertible. And it became one of the loves of my life...

It is one of the loves of my life. Tan leather interior with all the fittings. And a straight 6, 3 litre monster under the bonnet and aside from the engine has all the 'M' fittings, so it is classed as an M sport. My close friend who specialises in refurbishing BMWs (especially X5's) said that is not the 'M' class. But the monster under your bonnet will give me serious torque whether it is from a standstill or from 100mph. And it delivered... handles like a roller coaster, and for such a cute little thing it purrs like a lion when idling, and roars like a dragon when accelerating. And behind the wheel I am like...

Then today visited my friend and another faithful customer/friend was there with his M3. Honestly I failed to ask about the specifics. But I sat in his black leather interior seats and it was a thing of beauty.

He started her up for me... And it was a very different sound... It did not have the deep roar of a giant cat. Nor did it give the belch of the Kraken every time he touched the accelerator like my car. But it was a solid idle, and every time he gave it a bit if gas the sound was crisp, and sharp like the snap of a whip.... I was impressed and it made me wonder what it is like when moving... Well I later found out!!!

He offered to take me for a ride and I eagerly said yes..

We cruised down the street for half a mile and he showed me around the features of this mechanical marvel and when I least expected it he put his foot down. If there was a girl in the car, this would have happened...

But there was just me doing this...

My 330ci has some serious torque, putting my foot down is like Bill Goldberg spearing someone...

But when he floored it in this M3, it was like getting hit by the Millennium Falcon from behind!!!

Earlier when I said that giving it gas in neutral sounded like a whip cracking... It felt like the tip of a whip cracking from the bucket seat when he gave it some shit.

By now I am trying not to panic, trying not to make sudden movements, or loud noises, to provoke or disturb the driver (who knows how to handle his beast by the way). But he has to give me one last scare by drifting all the way around a roundabout...

Conclusion:

I would love for all the car enthusiasts to comment and let's have a fun conversation about my experience and share some of yours with me in the comments section. That was fun... But once is enough for a lot of days.

Look forward to seeing you all

Regards

Yoda

Hey bro I love e46 m3s I want one also
Currently like you I also have a 330ci e46 check it out and please give me an upvote or follow @yoda1917

Awesome post @yoda1917 ! An BMW M3 E46 is also my dream car! That's exactly the reason why I joined the crypto space and Steemit, to start in my journey to buying my M3. I currently own a E46 316ti compact and it's still good, but compared to the M3 ... damn son ...

Thank you :) I am glad you got some amusement... It was a fucken awesome ride!!!

May I ask for a resteem to get some more views before it sinks. It has been unusually quiet. That would be awesome :)

I'm afraid I only resteem content that is relevant to my blog. The reason behind the lack of views might be caused by the tags you've used #cars only. Try adding 5 tags at all times to reach out to more than one section. Hope this helps :)

I was suspecting cars was not a great section. And I understand :)

Amusing post!

I joined the BMW straight six gang with a 2006 E91 325i earlier in the year. Not blisteringly quick in the scale of things but enough to put a jolly good smile on my face - it too makes a great noise especially when the VANOS kicks into life.

I've also been lucky enough to have a bash at driving a E46 M3 that has been stripped of its interior and setup for drifting....on an airfield. I think it was pretty much the definition of fun. I didn't spend too much time going in any particular direction, more a case of all directions at the same time.

Oh yeah..... That would have been like driving a rocket!!!

Best I have driven is a V8 Holden Senator... It punched like a mother fucker.... But not with the surgical precision of a BMW M class.. I think you know what i mean ;)

May I ask for a resteem of this post as I think it has already sunken. I don;t know what's going on these couple of days ??? hmmmm :)

Let's get some car buffs into this conversation :)

Cool Post! @yoda1917
The first M experience is unforgettable, mine was in an e39 M5. Just a tip, the e46 has a problem with the rear subframe, if you like to drift or corner it hard, it will eventually start to separate, a friend of mine's broke last week, and it's a diesel! It's cheap to reinforce the frame, but when it breaks it's 600£ per side, BMW repaired it for free until around 2010 I think. Awesome car anyway, and awesome engine!
Cheers!

Yeah. The belt went on my 330ci day before, it is getting a new one fitted. Love how BMWs have no timing belt and how they don't cook themselves.

And thanks for the tip :)
