History of
21 years after the Traction Avant, Citroën began to produce the DS between 1955 to 1975 in different models sedan, wagon, cabriolet... The design was by Flaminio Bertoni, Italian industrial designer and André Lefèbvre, French aeronautical engineer. The innovative technology on this car was the hydropneumatic self-levelling suspension developed by Paul Magès. Citroën sold 1,455,746 examples.

Only by direct customer order, Chapron produced only 1,365 decapotables from 1961 to 1971 with 15 paint choices, 13 shades of leather for interior and 3 carpet colours. In total, 1,365 usine convertibles were made with DS19 or DS21 engine between 1960 and 1971, and Henri Chapron built 389 of his own until 1973.

It's sad to see Citroen producing poor cars after gorgeous SM or XM
It was a beast when I was a kid
Very nice car. my favorite view is from the front. Check out that steering wheel :)
During my holidays in France, I saw a black one, beautiful, but the time to take my camera, gone...
To be honest I have never really liked the Citroen, I have always thought they were an ugly car, but this one is not to bad, cheers mate.
I'm agree for the new models but old ones looking great like Traction avant
or the 2CV (my parent's car when I was young)
