The Bugatti Type 57 was designed by Jean Bugatti, the son of the founder Ettore. The Type 57S was presented at the London Motor Show in 1935 with a Aérolithe coachwork, based on the design of a 1935 prototype by Jean Bugatti.

On the 48 produced, only 17 were bodied with the Atalante two-door coupe style (named after Atalanta in the Greek mythology). The 'S' stands for surbaissé (lowered) and the 'C' for compresseur, a supercharger for increased power.

Incredible design. The side view looks like the profile of the cockpit of a fighter plane. Love the big curves on the rear bumper around the spare tire

Great lines for this Bugatti, pure beauty.

Bugatti has always been ahead of the pack haven't they? but 40 million, I don't think any car is worth that much, that's crazy, cheers mate.

40 million is just astronomical for a car...
