History of the Lamborghini Miura
The Miura P400 was the first supercar by Lamborghini and maybe the first of the world. It was presented at the 1966 Geneva Salon and was an instant success with its unique look and especially with the placement of its engine, mounted just behind the passenger compartment. It was the car of the celebrities of the day, including Miles Davis, Rod Stewart, and Frank Sinatra.
The last iteration of the Miura was the SV, presented in 1971, with a lot of upgrades including a better handling thanks to a new suspension in order to remove the front-end lightness. Only 150 SVs were produced.
Technical specification
With its 3,929 cc DOHC transverse mid-mounted V12 engine with Weber twin-choke carburetors, the Lamborghini Miura P400 SV can reach the 100 kmh in only 5.8 seconds with a top speed 290 kmh, 385 hp for incredible performance.
The coachwork was designed by Bertone, Italian automobile company founded in 1912. The shape of the doors were supposedly modeled off of the horns of a raging bull. Cool...
