1939 Ford V-8 DeLuxe Convertible Coupe
Next month (June 23 & 24th), during its Dingman collection sale, RM Sotheby's will auction this superb 1939 Ford V-8 DeLuxe Convertible Coupe for about $100,000.
Michael Dingman was American international investor and former director of Ford during 21 years who has an impressive car collection, and of course many old Ford (see my old posts about it) :
History of the Ford V-8 DeLuxe
First, the Ford V-8 was presented in 1932 by Ford and was the first public vehicle to be equipped as standard with an eight cylinder engine. In 1938, Ford distinguished its Standard and DeLuxe models.
DeLuxe models received several design evolutions with mainly updated front-end styling inspired by the upmarket Lincoln-Zephyr. The 1939 model had many updates as 24 stud cylinder heads and hydraulic brakes.
Technical specification
The interior of the DeLuxe models also benefited from the addition of walnut wood-grain window moldings and dash panels, a banjo steering wheel (cool), a vanity mirror in the sun visor, and a locking glove-compartment door with a factory clock.
Beautifully preserved restoration in elegant colors with a Folkstone Gray painting and the interior in brown leather interior with a black soft top.
I like the wood-grained dashboard, you're not in a car
