A Steemit Story Update From The Recent Lift Cannabis Expo

in #cannabis7 years ago

A few days ago, I wrote a story about my recent trip to the Lift Cannabis Expo. My article was about my general impression of the show this year, some interesting people in the Canadian cannabis industry and some cool gadgetry.

One of the people that I just happened to meet at the Expo was a friendly fellow named Michael Mason. I talked to him for about 10 minutes in his trade-show booth. Michael works for a family owned company called, Phytomedical. They help people to secure dignified access by assisting them to get their medical cannabis licenses or their cannabis grow licenses. Their business model is set-up, quite a bit differently than most medical cannabis consulting companies. Phytomedical doesn't dictate which Licensed Producer must be selected, from a choice of approximately 36 across the country. Instead of charging for each individual service or program that they provide, they simply just charge a yearly membership fee. The members can choose the services and the programs that they either need or want to take part in.

Michael explained all of this to me and I was really impressed because he and the Phytomedical team, are doing the same kind of cannabis educating and coaching that I am. Right from understanding the differences between cannabis strains, to learning how to use it and titrate or dose properly for specific ailments. Plus, all the troubleshooting that occurs along the way.

I, instantly liked Michael and I decided to ask him if I could take a picture with him. After speaking with him, I knew that I wanted to write a story about what he and his company are doing. I explained that I am a blogger and that I am writing for a new social media platform called Steemit.

He very politely agreed to have his picture taken with me and was making me laugh in the process.

He then, questioned me. "Did you say that you're writing for Twitter or Instagram?"

I responded with "No. The platform is new and is about a year old." Then I said, "It's built on something called a block-chain and all the people who use it and contribute to it get paid in cryptocurrency."

"Like Bitcoin?", he questions. "Yeah, sort of." I answer, "But way better."

I went on to explain a little bit more and then told Michael that I would write the website name down for him and I invited him to look at my Steemit blog, my own website and Youtube channel. I told him that once I completed the article, I would email it to him.

I thanked him for his kindness and I carried on with the rest of my day at the Expo.

As promised, once I finished writing the article that included Michael in it, I emailed him the link.

Yesterday, I received an email back.

It turns out that Michael Mason is the General Manger for Phytomedical. He'd gone onto my Steemit blog, then spent some time on the Steemit platform and on my Youtube channel. He said he was greatly impressed by what he saw.

Then he asked me if I would come into Toronto and be a guest at their next cooking with cannabis workshop. (Michael was really keen to share their techniques with me, when it comes to making medicated food.) I have accepted this invitation to participate and will go and attend the workshop.

I most certainly will keep you posted as to what happens and I hope Michael was intrigued enough by what he saw on Steemit, that he will soon join us too.

Hell yea, thanks for sharing @rebeccaryan.

Well, I simply must follow you now @danknugs!
Who can argue with that kind of support. ;)

You will be even more of a culinary genius ;-)

Hi @kiwideb!
Well, it's always nice to be able to learn and share with others. (Who knows? It's nice to find others who are doing what I am doing.)
Thanks for commenting. :)

Awesome! The cannabis community on steemit is growing so fast!

It really is exciting and we have so much more knowledge than we ever did.

I know my generation is blessed. We're learning more and more everyday!

I am thankful everyday that I had information at my finger tips and the courage to try the plant.
I am always learning and I will fight to my last breathe to see that it gets into the hands of the people who need it.

very nice article, thanks for sharing.

Thanks for commenting @liberian. I think Steemit is a great opportunity and I just want to see it soar.

That's serendipity and then making things happen. It sounds like you've been having a great time and it's been worth your while. Your Steemit blog is introduction for people! Have a great time in Toronto!

Thank you very much @haphazard-hstead. I have written a few articles to help people when they are first starting out which does make it easy to refer to as a guide. Good to hear from you. :)

very cool, congratulations @rebeccaryan, so glad you're getting some well-deserved appreciation!

Thanks @natureofbeing! That's so kind of you to say. :)

nice story :)

Thank you for commenting @speckofdust!
It's great when things just happen by chance.

RESTEEMED and VOTED.
Hello @rebeccaryan, I am a Chef, avid coconut oil infusion producer with a local following and thrive on education/information and educating /informing. I am currently relocating our GROUP headquarters to some off grid family playground in the Mountains. Deciding between Colorado and Canada.
I am interested because, we will have a couple of Enormous Grow Domes. One for Cultivating Local Organic Produce and the other will be for Medical Cannabis Research and development.
Everything happens for a reason and STEEMIT happened just the SAME.
Please follow me as I am you. Excited to possibly join you one day to absorb your mind.
Thank you.
STEEM ON and STAY.
Helping Others To Help (others) 1 By 1.

As easy as that it is done. I have followed you @hothelp1by1. Welcome to Steemit and welcome to my mind.
Your projects sound incredible. I am so intriqued by the idea of giant Grow Domes. The most well known area to grow in Canada, is the Province of B.C. This province is also the home to our largest mountain range called the Rocky Mountains. It also has the gentlest climate, with not a huge amount of snow in comparison to the east coast. I will do what I can to help where ever I can. ;)

WHHOOOOOO!!!!
Keeps getting better everyday.
Thanks for the support @rebeccaryan.
Please do, and may our endeavors cross in the near future!!
I am sure they will...
Keep me in the loop.

Well done girl..he's very impressed by the look of it. he will join soon enough ;)

I hope so. He's a really nice guy and I think he knows his stuff.
At least he had heard about Bitcoin already.

Now am mentioning coinmarketcap for those who have heard of BTCs :)

@rebeccaryan
We say lucky. But, do we create our luck? You could have stayed home and not participated this past week end. But your passion compelled you.
Here's hoping that this invite will be something more important than the normal, "please come".
Who knows. You could become a world traveler, expounding on the benefits of cannabis to all who will listen. I wish you well.
Francis

Thank you @francisk. I am currently living a charmed life by my own design. I knew as soon as I saw Michael that I was being directed to speak to him. There is no doubt in my mind that I am being guided to share the value of the cannabis plant with the people who need it and I also think this platform is part of it, somehow. I am happy to have met you Francis. :)

We live in interesting times, goes the saying. At least a part of that is to be found right here. Never in a million years would I even hear of @rebeccaryan. But, along comes the right idea, the right team of doers, and at the right time. We are so blessed. Let the people take charge for a while. Yes
Francis

Yes! It's such a miraculous grand design/ order with each person's energy fueling the workings of the mechanism. It feels like it (the Steemit platform) takes on a life of its own.
