Science For Growers is an education series designed as an ongoing support for cannabis community on Steemit, which I feel should have the best help, that crypto can buy 😉

It was conceived shortly after I joined Steemit in January 2018 to explain botanical, biochemical and bacteriological facts, that are often passed over in daily growing practise, which leads to proliferation of myths and anecdotal evidence.

This usually gives way to unnecessary, harmful and sometimes outright ridiculous procedures, which nonetheless have a way of spreading and are adopted by those, who don't know how to do a thorough research or assume, that cannabis somehow escapes the laws of nature.

The Pill is a compilation of articles I've already published, which I hope will become a jumping-off point and improve navigation!

Science for growers: There are 4 forms of nitrogen and they all work differently

„Nitrogen is the most important nutrient for cannabis as it is for most of the plants on this planet. It's responsible for cellular growth, production of chlorophyll, building of nucleic acid that forms the DNA, major enzyme reactions, and also required for uptake of other nutrients. However, not all forms of nitrogen are equal.”

Science for growers: Cations and anions are important, so I explain them for you

„Understanding of what cations and anions do is really THE BASIS of a successful cannabis endeavour. Getting how they come about, flow and are uptaken by the plant will let you comprehend how nutrients work, and why you should focus on establishing good practise first before you start experimenting with soil mixes and feeding programmes, that often promise more than they can deliver.”

Science for growers: The secrets of Cation Exchange Capacity

„Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC) is probably the most important measure of soil's fertility, which is directly related to yield and quality of cannabis. If CEC is low, plants cannot really hold onto their cations, even if we pour the fertilisers in bulk. And if it's high we should consider cutting back instead, cause the soil stays charged for a very long time like a good battery.”

Science For Growers: Mycorrhiza Has A Power To Solve A Lot Of Your Problems

„Mycorrhizae have been proven beyond any doubt in the last two decades of research to improve efficiency of nutrients uptake in plants, and to increase their resistance to pathogens or various types of abiotic stress (like heavy wind, drought or waterlogged soil).”

Science For Growers: Understanding What Nitrogen Does Is A Path To Better Growing

„Nitrogen is responsible for rapid foliage and stem growth, however too much of it is disadvantageous as well as toxic. Utilised without control it causes leaf curling or clawing, and it stunts the root development by blocking phosphorus absorption and creating toxic conditions for soil bacteria and fungi, which respectively leads to shock and wilting – floppy or flaccid plant that cannot stand on its own.”

Science For Growers: Mobility Of Nutrients And Their Uptake Explained

„The mobility of nutrients is a measure of their ability to move in soil and inside the plant. Cations in general are harder for the cannabis to be absorbed through the root, thus we say their mobility in soil is low. But anions are much more mobile, cause they don't stick to negatively charged soil particles, so they're quick to move with the flow.”

Science For Growers: What Is °Brix And How Does It Work For Cannabis?

„What value does °Brix scale hold for cannabis growers? It can actually provide quick and simple answers for very difficult questions, that otherwise can be only addressed by expensive lab analysis, which most of cannabis growers never utilise in their work.”

Science For Growers: Understanding NPK

„NPK seems like a no-brainer as it represents three basic compounds necessary for cannabis growth: nitrogen (N), phosphorous (P) and potassium (K). However, many growers struggle to understand the labels printed on their bag of soil or a bottle of fertiliser. And too much of a good thing is often worse than too little!”

Science For Growers: pH Explained as Simply as Possible

„In organic soils it's almost impossible to change it permanently as soil microorganisms will always fight to keep it in the optimal range to thrive, but even in soilless mixes a desired value may be quite hard to set for longer than a couple of hours due to hydrogen exchange.”

Science For Growers: Understanding C:N Ratio And Its Role

„Carbon to nitrogen ratio is an important measure of what's happening in soil! Basically, it's a number of units of carbon and nitrogen in every substance, needed to establish how long it's gonna take to break it down completely, and become humus.”

Science For Growers: Induced Systemic Resistance in Plants

„Induced Systemic Resistance (IRS) is a type of enhanced defensive capacity against drought, wind, pathogens and pests developed by a plant via prior infection or treatment.”

And 3 bonuses, which touch the basics!

Just the type of post I expect from my favorite weed nerd! All of those links are worth reading & rereading. I love when science circles back to nature knows best

Thx for the continuous support :)

Thanks for spreading knowledge that’s good for plants & our home 🏗🌏

I'm doing my best :)

If anybody reads this comment just know that we are very lucky to have @conradino23 here on steem! There is so much bull shit out there and I used to fall victim to it, but @conradino23 has broken my train of thought. Pay attention to his post, and fell free to hit him up if your running across problems.

anyone into growing plants i extremly recommend using orgonite i had plants that had been dead for years magicaly come back to life. of course there are spells that can aid in such things and Co-creating reality with other multi-dimensional beings like faye n stuffs.

Plants rarely die on me, but how do you use it?

God dam it now I cant resteem this to save it on my blog anshare the knowledge! hahahah

There's gonna be another one for sure :)

now I just read it.. dude!! Im F'in speechless! We can now "hear" our plants and have even some kind of "physical relationship"!!

Dear lord! its like a crystal ball

It's more like finally being able to measure the pressure. It's something I guess, innit? :)

I find it more amazing that we can kinda read the plants, whats inside them etc.. see when they are at their happiest :) Its also why humans should take vit an mineral tablets daily also, so we perform the best in every way.. I couldnt digest the gravity part and only got it really when talking about the nutrients. First one i will read is the 4 different types of N.. they never told me this at school in science!
