What have I wrought! - 2018 Legal Marijuana Grow episode 4
M'lady Blue City Diesel
is becoming a veritable monster :) You go girl! Plus marijuana Deep Dream art and more insect visitors.Back Episodes
Episode 1 | Episode 2 | Episode 3I mentioned previously that I topped the Blue City Diesel. She has really responded well to this, her lateral growth is crazy. Her tallest top is actually her earliest/lowest branch, with another three or four tops growing nearly as fast and spreading out like crazy.
To the left you can see a top that decided to become two tops without any pruning there, and you get a nice look at the beautiful purple color in her stems.
When I last posted 13 days ago she had just reached the handrail on my back stoop; now she is above the level of the window in the wall behind, for a growth rate of well over an inch a day.
My Girl Scout Cookies was always a little smaller and is now lagging a little farther behind. She is beginning to be shaded in the later afternoon and evening by the Blue City Diesel. I am going to train the Girl Scout Cookies down away from the Blue City Diesel and out into the yard more to get better light. She is almost to the height I want before I train her over, so probably over the next week I will do that.
Girl Scout Cookies
Insect Visitors
Gotta love seeing ladybugs on your ladies <3
We have had a lot of dragonflies in our backyard this summer :)
I believe this is the same bold jumper spider I featured in episode 3, but I got her in much better focus this time. I love the iridescent green sheen of her fangs. What a beautiful killer.
Marijuana Deep Dream
I took some pictures of the purple stems of the Blue City Diesel and decided to have some fun with them in the Deep Dream Generator.
Thankful to live in a legal state!
I am thankful to live in Oregon, a state which has finally legalized marijuana for recreational use. I can legally grow up to four plants (I have two beautiful girls). I hope to see the legalization movement continue to sweep across America regardless of the current political climate.
Cheers - Carl
Heck yes!
I wonder if girl scout cookies gets the name because of the lighter minty green color of the plant.
That BSD is looking healthy. Topping makes more branches.
I am thankfull too. :)
That was just a poorly exposed washed out cell phone photo :) She is actually a dark green as well, possibly even darker green in the leaves than the BCD. Girl Scout Cookies gets the name because of the taste, which is sweet / sugar-ry from the Durban Poison side of the heritage :)
Aha! good to know.
WOW! Only four plants?
I know here in my state we are voting o legalizing recreational use in November; and the guidelines if approved, would be 12 plants per household with adult over age of 21, but limited to the 12 plants no matter how many adults (over 21) reside in the home.
In all honesty, for recreational use 12 plants is overkill. Even just growing three plants last year I harvested far more than we could possibly use in a year and gave over a pound away to friends and family. I am just growing two this year and it will still be way more than we need, but it is nice to be able to give some away as well.
Ahhh, makes sense. See I am selling to a dispensary. A friend of Mr Golden D's is taking ours to his family's place... so me growing as many as I can is beneficial.
When I trim and harvest next week, he'll be taking it and getting it tested. Fingers crossed for at least 20%
Crossing them :) We have separate laws for commercial growing (which would cover growing to sell to a dispensary). You can of course grow way more than 4 plants in that case, but also have to be licensed and taxed and what not.
I love Oregon. I've been there several times, on business trips to Oregon Caves National Monument. The closest bigger city is Medford, but I've driven up/down the coast.
The coast road from about Florence all the way to the Washington border is just so beautiful. What do you do that brings you to the Oregon Caves monument on business?
I was a cave biologist. I worked as a researcher funded by the National Park Service to look for what types of bacteria survive in caves. Also we monitored water quality using DNA analysis to find evidence of the source of contamination (if present).
Oh that is cool! Not bad for a business trip to get to go to the Oregon caves :) I love that area of southern Oregon / northern California.
OMG those photos O_O
My sumo bb sprouted but didn’t grow. I also had another cbd that didn’t grow. They are suppose to be Indica, the only strain I can use. We will be on the hunt again for the right strain for me😔
I love how your bush is setting right next to the step 💗
You got some beautiful shots of buggies too!
Then the stained glass.. DAMN! That’s pretty!!
Down here in Oregon a lot of the dispensaries sell clones. I paid something like $20 each for two clones with already well established roots and fair number of leaves already - so much easier to just be able to drop them in the ground and know they are female and be good to go. Good luck - I hope you find the girl of your dreams! ;) Much love - Carl
Really!!! They sell sprouts!😱
Maybe I should check the one down the road and see if they are too.
Hopefully I can find the girl of my dreams
Have you inoculated after all? Gals look fantastic!
Yup I followed your advice and inoculated the same week you suggested it :) Yeah they are looking great :) Thanks!
Glad everything's working out. Now just stay vigilant for insects and borers. You can spray for these preventively. And then with your Oregon climate you should be ready for battling the grey mould in September/October. That's a tough one if your plants are not naturally immune to it.
That deep dream generator should be called Tiffany style generator!!! That’s tight, would love to have a lamp shade like that!!
Superbity!
God blessss....
