Mysterious pest damaging leaves! 2018 Legal Marijuana Grow episode 3
The Oregon summer
is finally starting to heat up and my ladies are kicking into high gear. A visit from a bold jumper spider made my yesterday and I have been dealing with a persistent garden pest :(Episode 1; Episode 2
The Blue City Diesel (below left) has already made it above the level of the hand-railing on my back stoop. She is growing nearly 2 inches a day right now, across multiple tops!
The Girl Scout Cookies (above right) is coming on strong now, she is making up for lost ground in a big way over the past week.
A visit from royalty...
A queen of the jumping spiders visited yesterday! She is a "bold jumper" (Phidippus audax), one of the more common garden spiders in Oregon (I have also heard them called zebra jumping spiders before around here).

A mysterious pest...
has been damaging the leaves of Mademoiselle Blue City Diesel.Check out the very suspicious destruction pattern!
This pest indiscriminately tears leaves apart and leaves them scattered on the stoop. This pest is ridiculously cute though so I can't get too mad :)

Thankful to live in a legal state!
I am thankful to live in Oregon, a state which has finally legalized marijuana for recreational use. I can legally grow up to four plants (I have two beautiful girls). I hope to see the legalization movement continue to sweep across America regardless of the current political climate.

Have you tried spraying water with a bit of dish liquid ? It sometimes helps with pests , also planting onion next to the other plants and citronella
Somehow I don't think that will help with this particular pest :) I underwent a vasectomy, which is the long term solution for this type of pest. But I don't think in the short term there is a whole lot to do except grin and take the collateral damages LOL
