Koi fish come i many varieties of colors they are mainly kept for decorative purposes in outdoor Koi ponds or water gardens. In Japan Koi fish are regarded as a symbol of good luck and good fortune. In Buddhism it is said to represent courage.

I had not heard of the Koi fish nor its tradional meanings.
Decorative fish is a new term as well! We have our Gold Fish bowls and aquariums but I don't think there are any for good luck or courage.
You are right about that it's amazing the things we have in this world and we never stop learning.
Living in Asia these Koi fish are everywhere i go very common in hotels , shopping malls and garden parks.
My husband is truly intrigued with this good luck theory. Thanks for the extra picture.
