What is Steem?
Steem is a social media platform
Steem is adding fabric
Your Voice is Worth Something
Steem does not have ads
We don't have censorship
It's a platform for Apps
Communities
SMTS
Steem is a DPOS blockchain where the stakeholders can allocate the new inflationary tokens via votes to whomever they please for any reason they want.
Sometimes content, sometimes Dapps, sometimes coin stacking... Whatever.
As I've mentioned we have a perfectly functioning blockchain, we just don't know what our story is and why anyone should care.
It's not the worst problem to have. It is like reverse engineering. Figure out what people are doing with it and you have solved the problem.
@whatsup,
In future addtion to what you said, STEEM will be a blockchain which facilitate to build more tokens top of it!
Finally STEEM is the blockchain which can help us to have a good life without having a job! (Talking about the future)
Cheers~
Flagged for aggrandizement 😉
haha, okay! :)
It's like Facebook only with a ponzi scheme setup where you have a chance to get very very rich if the platform really takes off and becomes the next big hit.
Everything is a ponzi scheme if it taking off makes you rich.

I think that one of the best things for steem is versatility and shapelessness... As Bruce Lee said:
Youtubers can be youtubers/dtubers here
twitter people can be twitter people
bloggers can be bloggers even use steempress
instagram - well we have lots of people doing exactly these one photo posts.
Now, the thing we are missing is communication and interaction between different levels of users (you know minnows, orcas, dolphins, whales - Kudos for exceptions and curation groups).
Also... steem needs consumerism, here everyone wants to be creator, but there is no need for most of the content out there - yes, we are young and in development but these are some problems that we face.
Have no idea what that was about, but like it matters. :)
Cheers
Bruce Who?
What blockchain did he designed? LTC?
I actually love it... be water. Steem comes from water. :) hmm.
5th element is salvation. :D :D :D
If you use that in your next post, you owe him commission lol
True!
Yup! Been trying to say that, but apart from rewarding comments and communication I don't really know how to encourage the consumer side of things.

The worst marketing ever
Noooo... We have downvoting and "not-upvoting"
What should be done...
Pay for something that is actually funny and interesting: pro youtubers, instagram, travel...
And actually worth reading: science, photography, wildlife...
Otherwise, we are hodling sh-coins used to generate more sh-coins
Nah, there are other business cases. Maybe not that appeal to you, but they are out there.
I think it can be whatever we make it to be given its flexibility. I can track my steps here and get rewarded or play a good trading card game and enjoy and win more cards. Opportunities are limitless if we provide a decentralized solutions to not rely on any one organization.

Steem is a functioning blockchain and a platform for anyone to build anything. The story is for anyone with passion to write

I'm thinking that steem is just the blockchain, the power source that things plug into. Maybe the question should be what is the dapp you're using? At some point in the future, if all goes well, it won't be Steem that they talk about it will be the dapp.
"Are you on Partiko?" or "are you on SteemMonsters?"
I guess Steem would also be a crypto currency... now you've got me thinking too, darn it!! Would you stop it?!
