@actifit: Close To Reaching Outside The Steem Blockchain?
There was an announcement a bit earlier by @actifit mentioning that they are closing in on having integration with the Fitbit family of wearables.
This is a big step forward when it comes to fruition. One of the most important phases Steem is going to enter is where the applications on the blockchain start appealing to people outside the ecosystem. In short, we need to see reach beyond what is here to experience the exponential growth.
We all know the Internet has roughly 3.5B people globally. This is a huge market. At present, Steem has roughly 50K daily transacting users. Basically, it is a rounding error.
Of course, Steem is faring pretty good in the blockchain world. Most of you are aware that I feel Steem is a top 5 blockchain at this moment. While it is not reflected in the price of the token, we see it in the development and usage of the applications.
@actifit is a prime example. As part of their growth process, they are looking to the wearable market which is expanding. Fitbit is the leader in this field and only getting bigger.
When you look at the potential, we are looking at more than 25M units out there. These people are all instantly able to use the Actifit application to get rewarded for activity they are already doing on their Fitbit.
This reminds me a lot of the application on here @share2steem. If you recall, that application allows users of Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter to all auto-post their content to Steem. This is an example of reaching outside the ecosystem.
Another point to all this is that these two examples are not changing what people do. Actifit is looking to target people who use Fitbit yet not swaying them from it. Those who love Fitbit will still be able to monitor all their activity using it. However, by simply syncing with the application on their phone, they are able to post their activity and get rewarded for it.
Again, this is similar to @share2steem enabling people to use the traditional social media sites as they usually do.
The plunge into the world of blockchain and cryptocurrency is going to come in phases. It will be evolutionary for most people. This is not something that the majority will simply switch to. Tapping into this in a phased in manner makes a lot more sense.
Actifit is one of the applications that I watched from the beginning. The development team really impressed me from day 1 with their ability to regularly update the application. Moving from a MVP is not always easy and we witnessed many that are not much different today than when they were launched. This is not the case with Actifit.
From my perspective, if this team can get 1% of the Fitbit users, that will be a huge boost to the Steem ecosystem.

Your timing is impeccable @taskmaster4450, yesterday I took my visiting family and friends to a very famous Hindu temple of the world, but after all of the weeks festivities I was not up for creating any quality content,taking pictures etc.
So I decided I'd really give this @actifit thing a go as I'd certainly be getting thousands of steps in and more importantly be able to cross reference the accuracy of my phones actifit app to my moms fitbit. The results are actifit is terrible, it glitches out and just become non responsive at times, and is better equipped to count potholes on the road rather than steps. Everyone successfully using it, is most certainly simply shaking their wrists or have made some bouncy contraptions to get their "steps". I see leaders daily with 70k steps LMFAO, perhaps it's tied to their wrist and they watch porn hub all day.
But, seriously there is no point in me ever again attempting to utilise actifit it sucks, bad. So, guess it's time to try other smt options or wait for this fitbit collaboration.
I also didn't create a blog about any of my epic experiences of the last week because there's no reason to work creating content on this platform for plankton. Hell people don't even scarcely reply to comments unless you harpoon a whale, then some pretentious assclown will surely speak up with some yo mama idiotic banter.
Long way to go steemians, a very long way to go.

This is awesome news. @mcfarhat and the team are doing an amazing job with this App.
I can already envision marketing behind this as you could potentially pay for your fitnit device with Steem or even better with the SMT token as you earn throught activity! Tough to structure but an interesting proposal!
This is key to reaching the masses. Will they be onboarding their own users? As the stemmit.com wait time is a joke.
