❤💵❤Abundance Mentality & Steemit❤💵❤

Where scarcity is very much a reality, it gets difficult to create a mindset of abundance. Poverty taxes the mind.

Abundance Mentality gets very very challenging to cultivate where I'm from, and in many other developing nations. Rank and file employees, even those working in financially reputable corporations live from hand to mouth. That is not even the worst yet. There are those who have to skip meals, give up education, live in the streets, or resort to crime just to survive.

Scarcity is all around us.

• We are an agricultural nation, and yet we have to import rice from neighboring countries.
• We are among the first democracies in Asia, and yet we are lagging significantly behind our neighbors in terms of basic government services.
• We were introduced to the western system of education over three hundred years ago, and yet we've continually regressed in quality. We are also among the lowest in terms of tertiary education participation rate in Asia.

This list can go on and on, but that will be too negative. I shared about these scarcity merely to paint the picture of how scarcity is not just a mentality where I am from - it is as real as life itself.

The photo to the left gives a short but fairly accurate differentiation between scarcity mentality vs. abundance mentality. In fact I feel there might be no real need to expound on how Steemit is teaching us the minsdset of abundance.

While our reality is that of scarcity, our mindset does not have to be.

You will see pretty often in @surpassinggoogle's posts how he talks about himself as while a minnow, sees himself as a whale; a CEO. Well, I too am a CEO. If you think it enough, and align your thoughts, feelings, and actions into being one YOU too are CEOs.

More than Enough to go Around

This is one of the reason why we will continue to invest time, and money in this platform. This gives one the ability to support others through upvotes, and guess what? the voting power recharges plus you'd get to earn in curation rewards.

By delegating some 20% of my SP I am also able to support causes without permanently parting with money.

If I Succeed, You Succeed, We all Succeed

This is the most fitting description of what happens in Steemit. The dolphins of today were once minnows, and redfishes. They grew in the platform through continuously supporting each other.

Here you truly only get what you are willing to give. When you feel envy for people who became really successful in this platform, check their activities, and you'll probably not be willing to do what they have done to get to where they are.

I Can Afford to do Instead

When I first came here, I wished I have lots of money to invest to support brilliant new Steemiams. It always frustrates me to think about it that way. I focus instead on the prospect of powering up on an on-going basis with the little amount we can put up every month, and doing my best in posting contents pretty regularly.

Open to Collaborating and Sharing What is Required

The improvement on Steemit and the many other platforms connected to the blockchains are through the efforts of amazing individuals and groups.

This can be expanded to an endless list of effort from individuals and groups who collaborate and share towards further development of the platform.

Willing to Learn from Others

This is the kind of environment Steemit fosters. It is so because the early adopters are never unwilling to teach and share their experiences, and the newer Steemians are thirsty for knowledge. We engage and learn from each other whether within the platform or offline during meet-ups, coaching or mentoring sessions, or in chat channels. There are Steemians who take time out their busy schedules to help in mentoring for free.

Promotes Others and their Achievements

We feel genuinely happy to see a friend, or someone we are following get appreciated through either comment engagement, or large upvotes. The resteem feature of the platform covers this point.

Openness and Trust

By posting here, we share bits about ourselves through our thoughts. We do it with trust that the community will respect those thoughts, and hope that some will see through us and appreciate our work.
