Chimaera: Gaming Industry Democratized

Since the revival of the video game industry from the 1983 Atari crash, games have gone a long way. From arcades, consoles, portables, mobiles, and now to Virtual Reality (VR) the future of gaming is undoubtly bright.

The video games itself have evolve from games with simple gameplay and graphics to highly advance and realistic ones. This means more advance and complex coding skills is needed to develop a game. It also means that developing games nowadays is very costly compared to before.

It's due to this cost that gaming is a very expensive hobby. Additionaly, game developer studios are forced to close their doors after failing to sell their games or recoup their initial investments.

Now, imagine if developers can develop highly complex and competetive games with much lower cost. Imagine if their is a platform that can provide tools and state-of-the-art-infrastructures where developers can unleash their creativity in full force. Imagine truly competitive games in which gamers can compete with one another in a provably fair gameplay where nothing but skill is involve.

Well, no need to imagine anymore because now we have Chimaera.

What is Chimaera?

Chimaera is a decentralized platform for gaming development, deployment and game assets management, who's aim is to democratize the gaming development industry. It's a platform backed with Chimaera's own custom blockchain technology, even having it's own cryptocurrency, the CHI.

Chimaera's vision is to help developers create their own blockchain based online game world with ultra realistic graphics, complex gameplay and system with its own currency that can be exchanged for CHI or other chimaera-based currencies and services. In other words, using the Chimaera technology developers create a Decentralized Autonomous Universe (DAU). A probably fair and secure unstoppable game worlds with its very own ecosystems.

Millions of gamers can also benefit greatly from the Chimaera blockchain. Using the Chimaera technology developers can create decentralized online games with 100% uptime, so players need not worry about issues like server being offline or too crowded. What's more players will have complete ownership of their inventories and items unlike traditional online games were we are not truly the owners of the in-game items we obtained.

How Chimaera help solve known gaming issues.

Scalability have always been an issue for the blockchain and is particularly bad for large online game world and virtual assets inventories. The Chimaera team have overcome this problems in game by ingenously using Game channels and Ephemeral timestamps. With Chimaera's continuing investment in this field, it's only a matter of time before scalability issue is truly solve.

Changing gamed can be a big problem to gamers. When we change games from previous to new ones, in-game items are not carried over to the new game. Thus nulling all of our efforts. With Chimaera's technological capabilities, it's possible for developers to develop a system that allows tranfers of in-game items and inventories.

Infrastructure, server cost and account administrative cost, has always been a huge headache for game companies. Maintaining these infrastructures and services is extremely expensive. Thus, games that does not do well usually closes their servers after a few years of operation. Forcing players to lose their progress. Chimaera's blockchain technology can greatly reduce the operational cost of maintaining a server.

Play-to-earn

We heard of free-to-play and pay-to-win concepts in gaming. Then their is Chimaera's play-to-earn concept. Sure, there are already ways for gamers to earn money through playing online games. But, a true play-to-earn concept is only possible through Chimaera and its blockchain technology. A method known as Human Mining, referring to the fact that players are mining resources themselves through playing, competitions and obtaining loots, etc.

The traditional ways for gamers to earn while playing games is through tournaments or by selling in-game items or in-game accounts. Tournaments are legal and widely accepted but the selling of in-game items and accounts for real life money is largely prohibited by their respective game companies. This is because those in-game items and accounts are not actually ours rather they belong to the game companies. In other words those long hours we use grinding and farming for those rare loots is completely wasted

Worse still, once the company decides to shutdown their server all of our hardwork will disappear like smoke. Not so with Chimaera. With Chimaera all items and achievements are ours. We can do anything with them with no repercussions from the company whatsoever. On the otherhand trading is greatly indorsed and players can earn a hefty paycheck depending on their skills and dedications. A true pay-to-earn concept.

The dream of a true virtual reality (VR) world

Imagine a massive world with heroes, monsters, dragons, cities, dungeons, oceans and ships. Now imagine this world inside a true virtual reality game. Exciting is it not?

Developers have dreamt of creating a true, immersive online virtual reality world for years. A world so real that it looks and feel like a real world.

And, gamers have always longed of playing in such a world. A world where one can wield magic and ride dragons. Or, a world were we can ride ships into space and engage in epic space battles.

Unfortunately, we currently don't have the capabilities nor the technology to make such realistic virtual world. So, for now such a world is only possible in books and movies.

Though we cannot make such a realistic game now. It's still possible to make a virtual reality world that has it's own cities, countries, world and even its own universe using the Chimaera's technology. A virtual reality world with its own ecosystems, government and economy similar to the real world. It may not be as impressive as a true virtual reality world I describe above but it certainly a step in the right path and Chimaera is leading the way to that path.

Afterwords

Chimaera is leading the way to the future of online game development and gaming in general. Lead by a team of truly capable and experienced individuals. Individuals that are making the impossible possible, and the unreal real. Solving problems that plague the industry for years and democratizing an otherwise undemocatic industry.
