Be Confident but Not Over Confident
Being confident and having the belief of that you have the thing inside yourself and with that inspiration moving forward is the real deal out in this world.While there are other things as well that matters a lot to the road of your success.
Arrogance is the world that you need to keep away from and always remember that it will ruin the potential that you have within yourself.Likewise confidence within yourself is the best thing that you can have while being overconfident will make something else that you were not supposed to be.At teh end you will just slip away from your goal.
To define the difference between being confident and over confident I am just showing an example
“I will score better than him in the exams.” This is what you can cal confidence.
“He can't score better than me in the exams.” This is what you can say overconfidence.
While the 2nd one
Confidence is I can do a work and I will do it.
Overconfidence is only I can do it no one else.
This shows that the possibility and the work that you would have done if you would have ignored that overconfidence in yourself.But yes sometimes it is worthy to have that over confident which is indeed rare in my point.Know when to do so and when to do not !
Use the opportunity that you will get wisely ,each and every one of them counts !

Yeah, confidence is the good trait to have where a person is sure about their course of action and it comes from past success and right decisions. But the overconfidence is excessive belief in their own abilities ignoring the fact that their decision can be wrong too. True concept @rehan12.
