15 Free Steem Cover Photos + Best Practices
One of the few ways we can customize our profiles is through the use of our profile pictures and cover photos. But, unfortunately, there's not much info out there on what the best practices are for your cover photo!
This has led to many pages with cover photos that either make the page look worse, make it hard to read information, or are simply nonexistant. So, I decided to do something about it.
I took a look at Busy, Steemit, eSteem, and DTube to find what the best practices are for cover photos on the steem social media network. Here's what I found:
Cover Photo Best Practices
For starters, it's best to understand that each platform uses slightly different dimensions for the cover photo. eSteem's cover photo is completely different from the rest, so these best practices don't take it into account. They do however offer the best mix for Busy, Steemit, and DTube.
Cover Photo Best Practices:
- Keep dimensions to 1080x100.
- Don't put text in your cover photo, and if you do, put it towards the right.
- Avoid predominently white cover photos. When a cover photo is used, text above it is made white and can be hard to read if the photo isn't dark or colorful.
Free Cover Photos
The following cover photos should look good, but I haven't tested all them so I can't be sure. Still, they're free and are likely better than what's on your profile right now!

But I do like the pics you added and I also need to change my cover image soon in my @momskitchen blog as it also still has my P.O.P Contest on it and needs updated as i ended that contest after 8 months ! for now I will leave my current image that i just finished recently at @karenmckersie as I really like how it turned out and im hoping to retire soon . But For sure I will try your size out and google some to see how they look , I might even go with your Strawberries and Chocolate image for my food blog ! haha ! I love the water image. Would love to use it as my cover picture. The hills and moon's are pretty amazing too.
Feel free to use them! Just right click the image and click save image address. Then put that in your profile settings. :D

I just tried to google search 1080x100 footer or images , and cannot find anything or any sites i go to say they have none . when I reverse searched your Chocolate and strawberris image it came up as 1080 x 150 . how did you find these images !? I have tried for 30 minutes and found nothing , lol maybe you should edit that into your post . thanks .👍 I found some only for 1080x150
I made them all myself. I took the time to manually crop each one because as you pointed out there’s no images in this size!
