Love yourself today and tomorrow.
We all love ourselves. When we have money, we always want to spend it on ourselves, whether it’s for new clothes, new car, new iPhone or Ipad. Each pay cheque we want to go to a new restaurant. At the end of each year, we want to travel to a new destination…
There is nothing wrong with that.
Unfortunately, that is the life of TODAY’s philosophy. Today’s philosophy has no tomorrow.
Tomorrow is an unknown destination. But we are heading there. So the best way is to prepare.
Therefore, if you truly love yourself, you should be prepared for tomorrow. At least, financially.
The rule I am currently using is; 10/10/10/70. Ten percent is for the offering. Ten percent for rainy days. Ten percent for investment. Seventy percent is for daily expenses.
It’s hard to live on 70% of your wages. But I know you can do it. All you need to do is look back and question yourself. The more questions you ask, the more money you could save.
Here are some example questions:
Do I need to smoke? Can I cut it down? (Please read “The cost of smoking” below)
Do I need to go out every week?
Do I need to go overseas every year?
Do I need new clothes or new shoes every three months?
Do we really need two cars?
After you have answered all those questions. You will be amazed how much money you could save.
Here is the secret, get an online bank account, set it up automatically to take out 30% of your income, before you can even touch it. The most important part of this secret is, you must start today.
