Would You Rely On A Drone For Personal Safety?
Depending on what area you live in, sometimes it can take emergency services 10 minutes or more to get to you whenever there is a critical situation. And when every second can mean the difference between life or death, it isn't very comforting to acknowledge that quite often when you find yourself in a dangerous situation and needing help, emergency services are too slow to be there in time and regularly show up when it's too late, after the damage has already been inflicted.
But what if help was already there?
Two drone companies in Europe are looking to make that a reality, by working on the world's first autonomous drone indoor surveillance system. The surveillance drone that they're working on is able to carry out its own patrol route, it can land itself for recharging, record real-time video during surveillance patrols, and send security alerts.
Might the drone be able to scare off someone who is looking to violate your property rights and help to provide safety? Ideally, they are looking to have the drone operate on its own and work unattended.
Fire-fighters, hospitals, and other emergency services, have been increasingly turning toward adopting drone technology in a myriad of ways. Could we see private homes installing drone security systems in a few years to come? And when it comes to reducing emergency response times, might local police stations opt to use drones to respond to scene before they are able to?
It's been suggested that in the coming years we are likely going to see mass adoption of drone use from emergency response services worldwide. The overall drone services market is expected to surpass $18 billion within a few years, by 2022.

Hello @doitvoluntarily and @claubzc First, I m drone pilot and flying 2 years almost every day. I saw a German design, they made a defibrillator drone. I think, this is one of the best idea and usefullnes of drones🔥
P.s.: You just have to open a window, and if not, the drone pilot and help of AI will a way in....its not perfect sistem, but if we can save one life... we won

I can imagine, AI needs to evolve so there can be less human error and important decisions can be made by the machine itself

It is not the technology that's the problem. Technology was never the problem. The fact of life is that it is the people controlling that technology that are the problem. In the name of security checks, several million humans are anally violated worldwide. I'd rather not give these people another way to f*** us over.
Just have your own. Don't hire a service.
That is one option open to us but the issue here is allowing the government to have it. In this decade itself, I predict that the public won't be allowed to buy drones with any kind of upgraded equipment. The catalyst for this ban probably would be some criminals using in a highly publicized crime or teenagers/children doing something horrific by mistake or even otherwise.
Just make your own.

It's only a short step from this to individual surveillance drones. Governments already monitor all digital communications (phone calls, emails, text, images, video), number plate readers, digital currency, and people are already accepting of facial recognition cameras. How soon until governments try to impose government monitored individual facial recognition surveillance drones to follow you everywhere you go and watch and record everything you say and do?
It would be enforced, for your safety of course, because anyone could be a terrorist, even your next door neighbour so be suspicious of everyone (except the government). Only the bad guys wouldn't want to be watched every second of every day. If you've got nothing to hide you've got nothing to fear. If you don't like the idea of 24/7 surveillance then it means you must be a terrorist.
Those are all the reasons we should be using our personal drones to monitor our servants who are working for us. We're the employer of government, and we have the authority to keep an eye on them.

@doitvoluntarily I am in favor of this service and would trust fully in the safety that the drone can give, I believe that I could perfectly make a thief with the sole fact of informing that they are filming and transmitting live to the nearest branch. Of course the success will depend on the people or the system that commands it

I personally doubt if a drone is going to deter a criminal. If they truly want something they will overcome all obstacles. Video cameras and door scanners have not prevented shoplifters. Thanks @doitvoluntarily
TIKAD has drones that will deter criminals, because they're armed. They are marketing armies of weaponized drones to governments now.
Well, we can just cut out the middleman, and have our own drones.
good point 😄! maybe it might if the intruder didn't know what to expect from the drone? if he or she wasn't aware of its abilities perhaps it might frighten them off at first, or they might just knock it away and disregard it altogether 😂
A sign of how robots are gonna take over in the future, how it will replace human labor as well
ATMs did the same thing for bank tellers and travel websites did the same to travel agents 👍 etc,, maybe they will bring with them new and better jobs? 😄

I don't think it would be useful. If you're having a heart attack, how will the drone help you? If your house is on fire, how will it help? Nothing replace human labor!
You have a point Claudia but in some cases it can be very helpful, Like if a place is inaccessible by road the medical supplies can be sent via drone.There can be many situation if we think about it

I 'm thinking the autonomous cars.... every one of them needs a drone on top to detect the unexpected morons running out to the street suddenly.
On the surface camera, it's kind of difficult to spot them.
