Boulder Sunday Echo Canyon
This is my contribution to #bouldersunday Echo Canyon in southern Arizona. Lots of strange looking creatures in these rock formations and a great place for wildlife.
These remind me of the dinosaurs from that old sit com series dinosaurs.
Lots of these coppery green swifts crawl around on the rocks fighting for territory by doing pushups.
This guy is mid-pushup trying to scare a pesky photographer away (me).
Boulders galore to climb on, just have to mind the cracks as rattle snakes like to wedge themselves in them.

love to visit this place! It's so cute when lizards
do push ups lol So many shapes to be seen in
this mass of boulders!

As a kid i used to do pushups back at the lizard and they got really aggressive. I also used to catch grasshoppers and throw them in their general direction and they would dive after them.

Beautiful rocks. Are those Agama lizards? They remind me of the Koggelmanders we used to find as kids but I haven't seen any in years
Yeah they are the exact same shape as those koggelmanders. The name of these guys is Yarrow's Spiny Lizard (Sceloporus jarrovii) they come in a few different colors in arizona. The mountain ones seem to be more copper than ones in the valley which tend to be more brown with blue on their belly.
