Boulder Sunday
A New tag that fits in so nicely with my love of rocks! #bouldersunday created by @shasta
My Boulder Sunday rocks are in Elephant Rock State Park in Iron County, Missouri, USA and they are quite a sight to see!
These elephant sized boulders are a 1.5 billion year old outcropping of Precambrian granite.

I love the green of the moss! Those are some good size boulders! Resteemed :)
Thanks so much, Keith!
Now those are some wonderfully
beautiful boulders ❤ @melinda010100!!
Love all the moss and lichens on them,
amazing how old they are and what
they might have seen and heard! :-)
Thank you for participating in
#bouldersunday! I love seeing your
boulder photographs and I'd love to
see this place in person! Nice tree
shadows across the boulders to!
Beautiful place! Have not been there, but I used to climb and that is an interesting spot for all levels. One day! ;)
It is a beautiful place!
I have been there well before Abbi came into my life. It is where Johnson's Shutins water slides are. Love the different colors of granite found there.
Love
I thought it might be a familiar place for you!
Buen domingo amiga @melinda010100 , exelentes imágenes de esas rocas tan inmensas que usted nos presenta en esas imágenes. Feliz domingo
Gracias and Happy Sunday to you!
Lovely spot. The rock hound in you is really busting out lately ;)
I have lots of rock photos but had never connected with any one else who I thought might appreciate them until now!
With a healthy crop of moss, too! Those would be fun to see. They sort of remind me of some of those big rocks you see in photos of Ireland.
That is a really interesting area! I was unable to climb around too much when I was there, but my kids did and it appears to be a really fabulous place to go exploring.
Very cool Melinda! Think of this in the desert and you’ve got Joshua Tree National Park. Huge house sized boulders scattered across the desert floor. Visit if you ever get the chance.
Oh I've been to Joshua Tree and you are right. There are elephant sized boulders there, too!
