《挪威的森林》中性描写的度在翻译时把握得很好，不是很煽情，而是刻意追求一种美感，无论从场景的描写，从语言的运用都很到位，体现着日本文学的唯美，丝毫不感到淫秽。
《挪威的森林》提到了同性恋、口交、手淫，有看黄色电影和援助交际的描述等，但书中没有刻意描写做爱的各种姿势，作爱的话语，或者特煽情的环境描写，动作描写。
