Daily Dose of Sultnpapper 05/25/18> How about a trip?, a trip that will flip you out… Nazca, Peru.

in #blog6 years ago

There are a lot of things that amaze me and I regularly bring them here for some discussion. Down in the desert of Peru is one of the greatest mysteries that this earth has to offer, they are known as the Nazca Lines. The thing about these lines is that in order to appreciate them and really see them for all they are worth, you have to see them from the air. In fact, these lines weren’t even discovered until 1922 when airplanes started flying over this desert.

Why would an ancient civilization make these lines in the desert that could only be seen for what they are from the air? These lines depict several different shapes many of which are sea creatures, birds, monkeys and several other shapes. It is estimated that these Nazca lines are about 2,000 years old and were created by removing the stones and the top crust of the soil to reveal much lighter colored sand.

There are a couple different theories that have been come up with as to what these geoglyphs, as archeologists refer to them, were used for. The first theory was that they were used for charting the constellations of the stars. The second theory was that the lines were actually showing the location of underground aquifers that are beneath the desert floor. Whoever built these lines also built some really fascinating stone aqueducts; those are still being used today as a source of water in the desert.

National Geographic did a real nice documentary on the Nazca Lines that I found on You Tube, it is a 45 minute film and worth watching if you really like things that are truly a mystery. Not only does this documentary cover Nazca but even some similar geoglyphs found in southern California in the Mojave Desert. I didn’t know that we had anything like this here in the United States, did you?

Do yourself a favor and spend the 45 minutes to watch the documentary from National Geographic and see these amazing geoglyphs if you have never seen or heard of them before. The documentary leaves you with more questions than answers but what you will see and learn will amaze you. I have included the link for you so that you won’t have to go search for it.

Until next time,

I'm still catching up after a few days away without internet. Glad I didn't miss this post!
I visited the Nazca lines in 1997 and flew over them in a tiny plane. They are certainly intriguing, and I don't think it's beyond the bounds of possibility that the ancient Peruvians were able to fly. They might have had balloons, or even some other type of flight technology, maybe using a force that we don't know about.
I've looked at the film in the comments about the gold "flying craft" and I'm sorry, but I tend to think they look more like stylised insects. If the ancients did have flying craft, I think it's unlikely that they would look like our jet aircraft. It would probably be something completely different. Also, if they had that kind of motorised engine technology, using oil, I'm surprised that they would have left us line drawings of animals. I know one of the drawings is said to resemble a spaceman, but again, that's us projecting our modern era ideas onto the past.
I did get round to watching the video about the pyramids that you posted earlier, and I think that is utterly fascinating. It makes total sense to me that they may have had some sort of electrical conductivity purpose. When I visited Peru, I went on a guided tour to some pyramids there. I remember the guide telling us that the pyramids of the Americas were not like the Egyptian pyramids, as they had no separate capstones. Later I visited a museum and saw an ancient solid gold replica of a Peruvian pyramid - with a separate capstone.

I can't recall the exact pyramid at the moment and would have to look it up but there is a pictured carved into the stone the depicts with great similarity what we know as helicopters. There are also references to "chariots of fire in the skies doing battle" in the bible. Those could very well be flying aircraft and described as "chariots" so that people would understand that people or beings were aboard them and moving from place to place in them in the skies.
We have a hard time with believing that these things could have existed in the past because if they did it would blow the Darwin theory of evolution right out of the water, and the religion known as "science" will have nothing to do with that, so we continue to be deceived.

It's not that I don't believe the ancients could have had the technology to fly - I just think that if they did, their flying craft would probably be completely different to the aircraft we have today. I have a personal suspicion that more advanced types of aircraft probably exist today, but because they don't rely on scarce fuel resources and would therefore be much cheaper to operate, and would put the big oil producers and aerospace firms out of business, they kept from the masses, and when they are spotted, they are referred to as "UFOs". This is just my own little conspiracy theory. Maybe the ancients used cleaner and more natural technologies for flying too. Maybe they had airships, using non-flammable fuels. Or "magic carpets". Or something that modern scientists haven't even thought up yet!

You can rest assured that more advanced transportation devices exist and that big oil is the keeping it suppressed. I have contended for a long time the "UFO" acronym is for "Unknowing Folks Only" spotted the object, the governments know what and who are flying these objects.

i was there back in 2001... seems eons ago.

It is amazing, isn't it? I mean, just trying to wrap my head around the scale of those glyphs is just impossible. I am aware of the existence of the lines in the Mojave, also. I prowl around quite a little in this part of the world.

I mostly look at petroglyphs. We have some here in Yuma that are over 7' tall and pretty badly faded, means they are old. One of my favorite places is a place called Painted Rock about 70 miles east of me. It's a graffiti pile of petroglyphs. They tell us most of them were made by a people that left about 900 years ago. There are other, older abandoned sites around here too. Where did they go? A huge mystery.

Painted Rock is associated with the Ho Hokum who built Casa Grande. That two story building has an interior room with a window that only passes direct light on the summer solstice. I have camped at Painted Rock for both equinoxes and solstices, some of those glyphs seem to be time sensitive, with shadow lines in travel wheels and such. It just amazes me. The people at PR had a really extensive irrigation system in place and obviously grew crops there. I have a hard time figuring how they got the water to flow when they didn't even have a level. I'm guessing that they used a pot with a line etched on the inside, filled water to the line then set their angles with that, but nobody knows.

I could go on :) Thanks for pointing out that documentary. I haven't seen it in a few years, I'll watch this afternoon when things slow down (he says optimistically).

Yes, things like this and those you mentioned just kind of boggle the mind on how they were able to accomplish them based on what we believe they had available to work with at the time.
If they were able to chart the moon, stars and planets I don't believe that them having a transit for surveying purposes would be out of the realm of possibility but we never here that mentioned by the people who write about these ancient civilizations. I think that are history writers live in a state of denial when it comes to writing the history of ancient civilizations.

Another mystery that we never completely solve. Either they were smarter than we are today or they had help...

Maybe they were both smarter and had help. That surely is a possibility, but never seems to get any consideration. Maybe the helpers decided that the people on Earth just weren't worth helping anymore and gave up on us, now they just come back every so often and do some fly overs and look around?

I thought you were holding out on us and had already been to Peru! Sounds like a pretty interesting place and video. I found 2 hours to watch a movie after the kids went to bed last night. Perhaps I can find 45 minutes tonight!!

It is 45 minutes worth spending to watch if you like interesting historic mysteries.

Very cool!
They remind of of the mound builders in Ohio.I grew up there, and we would go to the mound builders park and look at and climb on the mounds, and wonder how the heck they made these huge shapes so perfectly without being able to view from above.

That is the thing, we assume they couldn't view it from above, but are we really sure of that? There are other artifacts that have been found in other places in Peru one of which is solid gold and very small but looks very much like our modern day airplanes. In fact one college student somewhere even scaled up a model of that gold one and was able to make a wooden plane that flew quite well from the exact design. Maybe the Wright brothers weren't the ones who discovered how to fly, maybe they were only the ones in our history of time that did.

Excellent point! Perhaps we dont give them enough credit...
Now I need to go look that up and see what they found, cause that's news to me!

here is the link, this was found in Columbia, but the say in the video similiar were found in Peru.

Wow..... thats amazing! Thanks for sharing this with me!! Im going to show my kids too, I know they will love this!

Yes, seeing those would surely make you think that they had some form of air transportation. We can't trust everything we are told about history, and even more things are suppressed that would rewrite it if they would allow it to be known. Just my opinion though from years of studying documentaries and such.

So true! It takes a lot of digging and researching to find the truth, and even then it's hard to be sure...

I will see if I can find that story and drop a link to it this evening when I have some time. It was found in a cave in Peru with several other gold artifacts. I think it is in a museum down there at the moment.

Wow how cool! Thanks! Id love to read it if you find time! :D

I left a link somewhere in these comments, it is a 10 minute video.
