Land that I Love
Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 🙌🏽✨ I do love this place! Of course I adore the beaches and the sunsets. I also enjoy the culture, the friendly people, the food and learning Spanish.
But I also enjoy the grit, the dirt, the messiness of it.
(Why bother with finishing the whole job? Maybe later...right?)
(Many Utility poles still down 2 months after Hurricane Maria, but many have been fixed as well. The storm was a big trauma to this beautiful little island.😣)
(Broken plastic utility box cover...no problem! Plywood fixes everything. 😉)
To me beautiful but gritty Puerto Rico feels more REAL than the perfectly clean, orderly and overly sanitized life that I’ve otherwise long experienced in the land of suburbia.

You ought to take a trip to Culebra if you haven't. They have one of the top 10 beaches in the world! Vieques is awesome for the bioluminescent bay - but I wouldn't recommend staying for more than 1 night as it's dangerous.

There are several bioluminescenct areas in PR, and we have visited the one in Fajardo. Stunning experience.
