Craft Beer Blog Entry #2

in #blog7 years ago

Welcome to my week 2 beer blog! Last week we checked out Citradelic by New Belgium Brewing a great summer citra hopped IPA.
You can check it out here: https://steemit.com/blog/@roundoar03/new-craft-beer-blog-entry-1

This week I am sticking with the IPA and sharing my thoughts on Deschute's Fresh Squeezed IPA. This is one of my go-to beers when I am out at a restaurant. It is a combination of citra and mosaic hops and compared to last weeks Citradelic is a little more bitter offering more of a pine flavor. Alcohol content is very similar around 6.5%.

Deschute's is a brewery out of Bend, Oregon. Anyone into craft beer should have a basic knowledge of this brewery and their beers. They have been around a while and are sold nationally. Unlike some other craft breweries that started up a while ago Deschute's is still family owned and it's employees are part owners via stock options (ESOP Comapany).

I think the aroma and color of this beer really sets itself apart from other IPA's. Enjoyed in a tulip glass you can sense the grapefruit as well as the hoppy pine aroma. The foggy amberish hue of the beer itself is mouthwatering just to look at!

I love beer at almost anytime, but this beer is best enjoyed during happy hour fresh from the tap. If you buy it in bottles I would recommend pouring it into a glass (tulip style preferred to help release the aromas). It is easy to drink. For those not adventurous in different beer styles this a great warm-up. Any IPA with citra hops is a good ice breaker into the IPA family as it dulls some of the bitterness.
If you have tried this beer before and have anything to add please comment below.
If you have any suggestions of a beer I should try and blog about I would love to hear from you!

Well, it looks like my beer is gone!
I hope you enjoyed this post.
Until next week!

Best beer I've ever had is called Spotted Cow. It is form a micro-brew in New Glarus Wisconsin, and is only available in the state of WI. If you get the chance, it is a must try.

I'm from Minnesota and used to live in La Crosse, WI. I am very familiar with Spotted Cow. You are correct in stating it is a must try. I was actually in one of my co-workers offices yesterday and she had a 12 pack of Spotted Cow sitting on the floor and she was bragging to me how one of our other co-workers lives in Stillwater and drives to Hudson, WI for her to get it. I will definitely do a blog post about it some day! Moon Man is also a very good beer by them. Thanks for the comment!

Love to hear that! Thank you!
