In a recent post, I asked two questions of my readers.

  1. What do you think the future of Steemit looks like?
  2. Personal advice

You can read the post here:

What do you think?

I enjoyed every contribution and I want to thank everyone who participated.

You guys are great and I appreciate every comment.

If you want all these guys' opinions on the future of Steemit, you will have to read that post. If you want to answer any of the questions yourself, please do it on that post too.

In this post that you are reading now, I want to share with you some of the advice I received. Specifically the advice I intend to actually follow and maybe some with which I disagree. I think you will find this interesting.

Good advice

In response to my request for personal advice on my Steemit journey, these are some of the answers I received.

@joanstewart

Speak from the heart, a firm believer that Quality outweighs Quantity every time. When planning a week I stick with the 80/20 theory (good blogging standard) 80 percent joining in and sharing photography, contests, challenges, blogging about environment, cultures, history; 20% in what you do in pastoral works, crypto etc.

@gwilberiol

Personally, I would never keep up posting daily, and I doubt it is necessary, either. If you realize it's becoming a chore, by all means, slow down, stop, recharge, re-evaluate.
And obviously, you should be posting about whatever you find interesting.

@fitinfun

I would focus on your most important message and post on that exclusively.

I am thinking of dropping down to one quick post a day here and going back to my other social media.

@the-witty-waiter

I think you could continue with the inspirational and motivational inspired posts. You may include some personal anecdotes or successes to get more of a following or maybe interview a friend or acquaintance and relay their triumphs.

@nexit

I do not think you should limit yourself to Steemit. I think you could reach more people if you also use other mediums.

@fun2learn

It is usual that most of us only focus mainly on the language we can understand. It is important to get linked up with other language community like Chinese, Japanese, Korea, Spanish etc. We may not understand their languages directly so we can make good use of google translation as well as respond in their languages using google translation as well. Enlarge our social relationship beyond our comfort zone ensures a greater growth.

@kcherukuri

The answer to the first question (What do you think the future of Steemit looks like?) will be applicable to the individuals as well.

This is good advice. I hope you will take some of it too.

Two of my gracious advisors said the same thing. I disagree with them and I wonder what you think. @rubelynmacion and @croxdragnel both advise me to write shorter blogs.

@busy.org mostly claims my posts to be a three-minute read. Is that too long? I often feel I did not do enough when I press the Post button thus this feedback surprised me. It should not have, as my wife is always of the opinion that my sermons are too long. But don't get me started on that...

I have found this a very rewarding exercise and hope to do something like this again. I promised one SBI share each to two winners picked subjectively by myself, based on whose advice helped me the most. This proved to be too much as I treasured every comment. Therefore I upped the ante to 5 shares and picked 5 people somewhat randomly. It would be great to reward everyone but I'm not that rich... I hope the upvote on your comment helped. So, without further ado...

The winners are...

@fitinfun, @the-witty-waiter, @nexit, @gwilberiol, @joanstewart

I hope you enjoy this addition to your existing SBI shares or the start of your collection. Check out this post if you do not know what you just won:

Thank you. Visiting by way of Kryptonia. I'm enjoying your posts

Personally I think as long as you write over 150 words, this has some meat to the content. Of course, if you get passionate about something, it is easier to smash the 150 minimum I set for myself and produce an article over 1000 words quite easily. On an SEO front and for your articles to be found on Google, 350+ words is the key (amongst other factors.)

Tkank you!
I like long stories. Hobin Hobb like...😉
