Introducing Mako - Overview
So I'm a new face in a sea of people crying out for attention to their work- all in the hopes of making a little money. The amount of spam content on this site is impressive, which I have some thoughts on how to fix were I ever to gain enough visibility to impact it. But that aside, I can see why minnows often drown in the steemit sea. So what makes me any different? The answer is simple: I'm not here for the money.
The goal is threefold: visibility, connections, reactions. Marketing a new work of fiction is difficult enough in an over-populated sea of literature. Nowadays, anyone can publish anything- much like here on steemit. For something to stand out it must be truly special; I want to find out if what I have meets that criteria. I desire early feedback on the finished product of the book I've been working on, visceral reactions, honest criticisms and hopefully enjoyment.
To get there means doing the legwork it takes to slog through the torrent of spam and mediocre content and building a following before releasing what I have to share with you all. From there, it's as simple as letting you have a go at my world and my work. To do this, I'm going to start with a series of introductory posts giving you an insight into who I am, what I'm writing, and why you should stay tuned to this channel in the coming months. If you're along for the ride, make sure to follow me so that they show up on your feed, @makowrites.
