MAKE good content(not just reposts) that informs people about relevant info . Make it entertaining. Interact with other creators. And most importantly BE ACTIVE. There's so many bots on here and other social media just trying to make a quick buck actual human interaction with good info will skyrocket your followers(and more importantly your earnings) faster than anything. This is about helping people not follower counts.

Exactly what I was looking for, thanks @aatrayu

good comment, this is exactly what I was trying to say!

You said it! We reinforce it when multiple people say the same things without planning it. I like you added a bit about how better to use steemit. I'm still new at it and trying to figure all the ins and outs. Took me hours just to figure out how to post links LOL. Steemit has a ways to go before they're Twitter or Facebook rival but I can see it happening. I have to remind myself it's still beta LMAO

If you want to edit your comments or posts to look better, use Steemit uses Markdown Cheatsheet. It is very popular and many successful platforms use it. I knew of it before arriving on Steemit so it was pretty easy for me to adapt, but if you use it for a while, it will come natural. Good luck and thanks for sharing the positive mindset to other users. This is what Steem needs!

Thanks...I've looked it over. I don't have a programming background just a writing one. My learning curve is a bit behind but I'm learning quickly. Good luck to you also and I look forward to learning more from you both!

this is so nice of you. I am sure you will learn and advance very fast especially as you look as an open-minded person!

Oh...and do what @lochsteemit is doing here. Start conversations.

I would suggest to never ask for people to follow you. I never did this even though right now I would have had a lot more followers if I did. Simply post good quality content, comment to other people posts (but with real comments not just spam them with a Great job) engage with them and a part of them will follow you. It is better to make friends you can trust or who you can have fun with, rather then have a lot of followers who do not care about you. Look here at this article for new people on the platform. It contains some important guidance which will help you a lot. And never expect a huge and exponential growth because that is simply impossible. Everybody needs time to develop on the platform and few just wait to make it until that point where they have a lot of followers and people who support them and who they are supporting. hope this helps, even though it is not exactly what you are searching.

PS: Next time you want to ask, I suggest using the asksteemit tag. You can replace the introduceyourself with it, as this is not an introduction post. Good luck!

Awesome, thanks @mejustandrew. Editing the tag now!

Excellent response! Here on steemit since it's a new platform and in all honesty not the most user friendly to the average social media user responses like this that teach about the platform are invaluable to me. Thanks @mejustandrew

Commenting on new / hot posts that you think are good quality and that you have something to add to the discussion for seems underrated to me. But just make sure your comment adds value, beyond just "wow what an insightful post".

Looking through the comments sections here lot of them seem lacking in good quality discussion compared to other social networks and I think authors / other readers recognise and appreciate it when it's there.
