Part 2

 They had found a little abandoned chapel just north of where they were staying.

Helena complained that she felt a burning in her chest when they had stepped over the fallen door, But Marcus told her to stop being dramatic.

They cleared a space under the only remaining stain glass window and Marcus set about drawing the mark upon the ground. Helena started looking through his bag. "So are these the things we need to do the summoning." she said pulling stuff out of the bag.
"Yes, and some are our lunch." He laughed.
Helena held up an apple. "Lunch or spell." She bit into it. "It's lunch now." She grinned.
"Make yourself useful and find some feathers, must be a dead pigeon round here or something."

An hour later the items were in place and together they started to do the chant. It wasn't immediate, but after 10 minutes of calling, there was flash of light and a winged man sat looking down at them from the rafters.
"Not sure how you managed this humans, I have never been summoned before, state your business."
"May I know your name."
"Is that the reason you called me?"

Helena whispered to Marcus. "You sure you did it right he is rather rude for an angel, I am sure..."

"My name is Theo." He looked perplex. "I am not sure how you called me when you didn't know my name."
Marcus smiled. "Luck perhaps?"

Theo floated down and folded his wings that straight away disappeared. Theo smiled. "We don't deal in luck where I come from, Human." He was a bout six foot tall, with wavy blonde hair and piecing blue/Grey eyes. "Fate, maybe? Although fate has never called me before." He looked Marcus and Helena up and down. "Interesting." 

Marcus smiled. "Then clearly its your destined to help us then, for we seek an artefact."
Helena held up her hand. "A ring like this. Do you know of such an item and where it can be found?" Theo looked at it. "It forged from Grace." She whispered mysteriously.

He pulled back looking at them both suspiciously. "Why do you seek it?"
"So you know of it?" Marcus asked now animated with hope.
"I did not say that, I just need to confirm you are pure in your desire, before I ask above."
Helena looked at Theo. "Are you lying Theo?" Theo gave her a side wards glance. "Because if you know something about that ring and do not tell us that would be a sin." She said acting all shocked and horrified.
Theo looked shiftily at Marcus and then back at Helena. "I need you to be very clear Theo when you answer my question. Do you know where we can find the ring?" Theo remained silent. "Silence in this matter could also be seen as a sin if you know the answer to my question." Helena said with a smile. Marcus smiled at her, he could see what she was doing. If they could catch Theo committing a sin, then they could trap him.

"I believe you two are not pure of heart, and you will use my knowledge for ill." His wings opened and he began to rise up again.

"I believe you have committed a sin Theo, I believe you have bared false witness." Helena said with a smile. "For you refusing to tell us what you know about the ring will sentence us to be imprisoned here for eternity."  

Theo finds he can't ascend and sinks back to the ground his face perplexed. "Clearly you are not very up on the rules Theo." Marcus says with a grin.
He folds his arms. "As I said, I never been summoned before, not in 6000 years, so yes a bit rusty on the rules." he looks at the two of them and then looks up, and starts talking in an ancient tongue, lost to human ear. But Theo didn't know that the two human spoke the tongue.
"Michael." He called. "Please help me my brother, I need you guidance. They called me and I was compelled to answer, but they asked a question I wasn't expecting, a question I couldn't answer, and now I have sinned and appear to be their prisoner. Brother please help." 

Marcus and Helena pretend they don't understand what he is saying and just tap their foots looking impatient, but really they are very interested and absorbing every detail. 

A voice fills the room. "It is fate Theo, and so it is the will of my father that you go with them now."
 

Theo protests. "How can it be? I mean I am what they seek?"
Marcus slaps his forehead at his own stupidity and Helena turns and they mouth at the same time

 "THE O, The ring." They laugh.

"I forgot how literally father can be." Marcus laughs
