Starting in early Feb, stock trading application Robinhood has pledged to openning an exchange for cryptocurrencies with zero fees attached. This rivals competitors like CoinBase which often times holds high fees that cuts profitability severely; some as high as Four Percent!!! Thei aim is to encourage their three million users to gain interest in cryptocurrencies and blockchain technologies. Co-founder Vlad Tenev told TechCrunch

“We’re planning to operate this business on break even basics and we don’t plan to profit from it for the foreseeable future. The value of Robinhood Crypto is in growing our customer base and better serving our existing customers.”

“We believe that cryptocurrencies have the potential to fundamentally reorganize the way money works from the ground up, putting power previously held by financial institutions directly in the hands of the people,” Robinhood added in its announcement.

I personally believe this will likely bring more crypto traders to their platform than their users to crypto because of all the negative covefe surrounding the crypto world at this time.

A friend of mine is visiting Alaska and wanted to share with me some of the shocking price hikes on groceries. Because the goceries have to be imported into the cold terrain, supplies are often limited and thus the demand drive up the price. Here are just two examples of goods that have 3-5x the normal price. Just be happy these prices aren't in your area!
