This week I went back to swimming, after 5 years stopped. Already practiced for a long time, as a complement to physiotherapy and also to improve the Cardiorespiratory System. I returned to escape the sedentary life and gain endurance and breath, much needed for this last year of college.

Swimming is an excellent physical activity and a great possibility to practice one of several Water Sports, from which come worldwide renowed athletes. But in addition to its physiological and sporting benefits, Swimming provides benefits to mental health, developed both with physiological improvements and with a proper role of acting on the individual.

When they are fully functioning, physical and mental wellness provides total wellness, high self-esteem, self-confidence, conquered from respiratory improvements, controlling anxiety in learning to breathe properly.

It also assists in providing energy to the body, to perform other daily activities, as well as at bedtime, providing better nights of sleep, less stress, and consequently increased activity and blood flow in the brain with constant cardiovascular training during activities of swimming.

Last but not least, it acts as an antidepressant, both for the physiological benefits gained - the perception of conditioning and body modeling - and for the social function that is exercised in this context, where new friendships, experiences and participation in competitions.

However, it can be said that contact with water produces relaxation and pleasure moments among those who do varied activities in this place. If you want to avoid the heat and at the same time do physical activity, practice Swimming!
