How to regain your enthusiasm, get your groove back and keep steeming like before

in #blog7 years ago (edited)

For a minnows or even whales on the blockchain getting motivated is easy when things are rosy, to stay motivated in a downtime like this is a lot harder task. Everyone and anyone will have something good to say about the steemit when the going was good but real investors and content creators stay true and strong in hard times. Don't get me wrong, I like many people lost some enthusiasms during this period of low steem and reward but what most of us have to do is go back to what made us love it keep grinding on it, invest in it and keep creating good contents in the first instance.
I have seen people loosing motivation and enthusiasm to keep contributing to and investing in the blockchain even when everything was good but this post is not for those. Giving up easily, at the sight of the trouble, on what we love can result in an undesirable cycle.

Look at those activities, discussions, pictures that are making steemit interesting for you whether you get paid or not...made you smile, lightened up your day, those things that sparked up your day. Remember how you posted incessantly on facebook and other social media with no hope of any reward. Posting on steemit now looks more like a daily job to a lot of folks because they are getting rewarded for it. Remember the blockchain is all the social media you can think of in one place - who says you can't try other applications on the blockchain like dlive, dtube, dmania, steepshot, zappl etc to spice things up. You don't necessarily have the zap yourself mentally coming up with two long posts every day. This will give you momentum, until you get motivated and enthusiastic again. And get back to your steeming best, the reward notwithstanding.

Think about the values you are bringing to the blockchain and the 'services' you are providing to your followers. if you have been upbeat about the blockchain before, then you must have built a devoted group of followers who always look forward to reading and commenting on your blog posts.

Of course there might be other posts like yours on the blockchain or else but if your posts was original, then it is unique to you and only you can provide that value the way your followers like it. Don't deprive them of those good contents...don't you forget all the huge upvotes they were given you when the everything was rosy.

Talk about steemit to people that are enthusiastic about the blockchain. There are two kind of people when it comes to perspectives - the half empty people and the half full people.

Talking to the first set will likely drain the little motivation you have left because for them the sky is always falling, they are the pessimistic. You will better off discussing the blockchain with the half full people - the optimistic.
It is all about perspective, some see steem going all time low this year as a good thing as they can build up their investment in steem power somehow before it comes back up while others will see it as everything crashing, the last set are quick to power down, pack all or most of their steem to the exchange and wait for the end. Reading this you already know which set you should listen to and which will laugh last.

If you have been here for at least 2 or 3 months, forget about the last few 'not so good' days and cast your mind back to when the going was good. It is time to list out what you have accomplished or acquired through the blockchain in terms of meeting new people, new information, opportunities, investments, travels, fiat, gadgets and other material stuffs.

I believe you will come up with a good sizable list if you thought deep enough...
This is necessary because we human easily forget. Counting your blessing is crucial to regain enthusiasm because it helps you refocus on what make a business, activity or life generally awesome instead of the little part or phase that sucks. I believe if you can do all these you will get your steeming grove back on instantly.

Thank you for reading.

It is very difficult to stay motivated in down times. Keeping the end goal in mind I think helps a lot with that. If it was easy, everyone would be doing it! Plus there are a lot of crap posts on Steemit which are just not inspiring at all. I enjoy your posts and I think you could become a steemit influencer if you stick with it.

Keeping the end goal in mind I think helps a lot with that.

That can also help a lot...

And I appreciate your encouraging words.
