Chuck Taylor All Stars, "Chucks", "Cons" or "Connie" in the USA, were originally only designed as basketball shoes, but have developed into one of the most successful shoemakers in the world. The first shoes with rubber soles and canvas ("canvas", long since cotton in linen binding) were produced from about 1860.
