Something from my bar whenever I feel like it episode CDXXXVII

This is an interesting one. It's an old AM radio in the shape of an owl. It's called Midnight Owl (Bubo). These were apparently custom made in Japan clear back around 1965. The right eye is the on/off volume and the left eye is the tuner. There is a compartment on the bottom for the batteries and some kind of switch on it. No idea what Cross means on the switch. Who knows maybe it was supposed to say closed. It seems that Bubo the owl from Clash of the Titans (the original one) may have been based off of this radio. I remember messing with this when I was a kid. No idea if it still works. Never bothered to put batteries in it to try.
