Do you feel like Steemit is a full time job?steemCreated with Sketch.

It can be a little frustrating determining who to follow and who you should upvote and if those people reciprocate your upvote. If you have more than five hundred steem power then it becomes even more difficult to determine the best amount to give based on the slider vote bar. If you are feeling this way it might be time to take a little time off and think about your voting strategy. Even though you take time off you should still vote even if its for yourself to ensure that your vote is counted every day.

I am leaning more towards a strategy of upvoting those that support me the most upvoting them 100% up to eight posts per day at this level. I will mostly be looking for people that have similar amounts of steem power invested into the paltform. I will save the rest of my voting power for eight 25% votes for people that are new and create original content.

I plan to start taking one or two days off from steemit so it does not start to feel like a Job and I still enjoy the content creation process. On the days I am off I plan to just upvote all my own content to make sure my voting power continues to grow daily.

Hi mate, yes indeed i have a voting strategy now, not finetuned though. You are so right, with 500SP and the slider there are decisions to be made. Here is my strategy, well at least these are thoughts about it:

Looks like a very well thought out post, I am going to go through it thoroughly and leave you a comment later today once my post comments slow down.

I really have started to feel like it's a full-time job. The way I look at it is if you want to earn as much as a full-time job, you need to treat it as one!

He probably ment it can be time consuming as a full time job. This might be due to high shortterm expectations most of us had in the beginning.

Exactly what I meant. I enjoy writing and interacting so I don't mind the time commitment

Sorry to hear that it feels like a Job after only a month or so of being here for you. That is probably a good sign that you need to take a step back and rethink how you are doing things so you can ensure its an enjoyable experience.

No, I get paid for full time work. If you don't cheat your way to the trending page, you don't count on Steemit, except to a tiny fraction of your followers.

This is indeed somehow true currently, but remember its a beta and the current ranking system will be updated. I believe there will be a lot more tabs and maybe a very different system in the future.

I do hope 'different' means positive in the end, watching a few whales drain the reward pool has begun to be a bit tedious.

I agree with this, no one should ever depend on Steemit to earn a reliable income. If you are a content creator that has done well on other sites, Steemit is a nice way to supplement that. I am in the same boat with you and would never give up other sources of revenue and depend on Steemit.

Nice post. I have a around 188 followers and rarely get upvoted. I think my average upvote is around 2% of my followers without the help of #minnowsupport I'll admit my blog is currently all over the place, but I'll bring it in soon enough.

As far as having a strategy for upvotes go, not really. I look at the content of a few of my specific followers that have been helpful towards me and vote them when I can. Other than that I just check the "new" category and see whats posted. A lot of the time I don't really see anything interesting but when something catches my eye, usually art I'll check it out and up vote if I feel its worth it. I'll also help up vote someone who wants to gather funds for a personal item such as a game, parts etc., unfortunately my vote doesn't help much ~0.02

A voting strategy matters once you reach 500SP, than you can decide how much you would like to upvote. 2cents are better than 1 cents. Take small goals , see you again at 0.05

Have you had success on youtube or other social media platforms? If you are just learning and deciding on what kind of content creator you want to be, it may be an even more difficult learning curve for you. Its important that you are commenting and interacting with the community though. I am sure you will find your place soon enough, it just take a while if you are very new.

Nah, I'm typically antisocial. Steem has encouraged me to "reach out" if you will. I use to do some Graphic Design work but when it didn't really bring in any real form of income I sort of lost interest. Since steem provides the income assuming the work is nice it motivates me to get back into graphic design. I intend on posting 3D Models, Photo manipulation on occasion, and post about computers. I'm relearning 3DS Max so hopefully something interesting will appear on my page in a few weeks.

Other than that, I'm an aspiring actor so when I'm allowed to post some pictures of me on set I will. Unfortunately there is a large gap between taking the photos and actually being able to post them due to NDAs. You should a couple of photos from me on set in August/September.

I think 3D models will do great here, I know its quite a bit of work but if you build up a following interested in that it could be nice. I think the acting photos could do nice as well as long as you provide interesting info to go with the photos.

Thanks, I'll keep it in mind.

For some it could be! Interesting thoughts :)

Thanks for checking it out

50% yes because, It's all about the time and value. If your account gets high steem value then your life will be happy. :-)

Yes and you can increase that by buying more or mining and converting to steem

@azfix How do you mine sbd?

I did a post a while back about mining eth and auto converting to steem power. You cant mine Steem directly any more though. https://steemit.com/mining/@azfix/how-to-mine-steem-power-with-a-gpu

Ah okay. I've mined ether before. I've been mining DGB, while its down in the dumps right now I'm pretty sure it has a bright future plus I can get more coins. Ultimately the amt of DGB I earn is around the same profit I would get from Eth, so I decided to play the long game.

To think DGB was only .00000020 or whatever last year and now it jumped up significantly peaked at .00002340. I expect it to do the same next year around june if not sooner. Unfortunately, I sold off most of my coins back then and didn't realize it until I went to try and sell them.

It started to become my full time job. After a while, Steemit will be my main income :D

I am not talking about the money so much as the work involved, I would never consider Steemit as a reliable source of income. Anyone looking at this as a reliable source of income should rethink why they are here.

I spend a lot of time on this site, but it will eventually become a full time job once my earnings are higher. If you treat it like a full time job it can have huge earning potential. But yeah I know what you mean with this becoming confusing and time consuming.

I do not think the income will ever be reliable and I would not quit another Job to do this full time. Its a nice way to get a little extra $$ now and then but its an even nicer way to promote your original content.

Interesting to read
I am very new here so my only strategy is to enjoy my time on here and try to build up good followers and follow people whose posts interest me
Still at the very early stagebut posts like this will help me decide my longer term strategies

You just have to decide if you want to be more of a content creator or an investor or something in the middle. I think having fun is the best strategy of all!

With time I will work that out and keep having fun

I joined the community recently and I feel like this definitely has the potential to be a full time job. The most important thing to me is that you have to enjoy creating contents here, and I believe everything will fall in place

Having fun with what you are doing is key
