RE: My Entry For The Blocktrades + Open Mic SteemFest Ticket Giveaway

I love traveling too. Where in Mexico did you go? I've been living in Cancun for 15-years and am about to go to Thailand for 4-month. Woo Hoo!

@curie is awesome and were a big part of why I stayed on the platform. They also have started sponsoring Open Mic.

I met @futurethinker in Lisbon last year at Steemfest. He's a really cool guy.

Like your ideas of bringing publishers on board.

Thanks for making this video and good luck.

Hi @luzcypher

Ha ha, Mexico was amazing, I traveled the Yucatan peninsular. I flew into Cancun but jumped strieght on a coach down to playa del carmen and then a ferry to Cozumel where I was doing some scuba diving to kick the trip off. I'm not a huge fan of big cities, it's different when there is someone to hang out with but when lone travelling I rarely stay in a city more than 3-4 days. In this case I skipped Cancun because I was travelling on a seriously tight budget and wanted to get around certain places + diving is so expensive it took a 5th of my total budget out in one fell swoop.

After Cancun I went to Tulum and ended up staying there most of the rest of the trip. Visiting Cenotes, dodging the mafia of locals at Akumal by snorkeling around the reef from the next bay over to the see the turtles and cycling down the coast for a few days sleeping on the beach in a pop up tent. I was only there for 2 weeks and planned on going to Isla Holbox origionally but didn't make it as I wanted to snorkel with whalesharks which killed another chunk of money.

Thailand is awesome, I'm sure you'll have a blast. My number one recommendation for a more chill place for when party islands have left you a bit frazzled is a place called Railay. One of the best beaches I've ever been to, there are limestone cliffs that overhang the beach, check it out to the left 👈 😉

I actually wrote a whole series of posts around 7 months ago about places I visited in Thailand, check em out if you're after recommendations. Koh Sok national park was a particular highlight and Chang Mai was awesome... for a city.

So you met the elusive futurethinker! He has been very careful to keep his anonymity in promo-mentors and it was/is a running joke among the mentors as to his secret superhero identity. Maybe I shall meet him this year and learn the truth. But seriously, yeah I agree he is a super cool fella. Many thanks for hosting this comp Luzypher and, hopefully, I'll meet you in person at SF3 🙂
