The blocktrades contest | Pretty little hometown girl (fictional piece)
Thanks @anomadsoul and @blocktrades for developing this contest with the intention of rewarding users who have continued to create valid content and engage with the community throughout the recent and ongoing crypto-downturn. Here's the post I have nominated; It began life as a poem but got out of control and became a fictional snippet from life, based on some of my own. Pretty little hometown girl
I have worked at consistency in posting with some 1.3 posts and 9.45 comments a day on average since I started. I've written on various topics and encouraged, through comments and interaction, other users to engage and create. Am I a role model for others? That's a question for others to answer however I have approached my steemit journey in the same way I approach real life.
I have a design and create ethos and an extreme ownership habit meaning I take the responsibility to design and create the life I want and take ownership of what I do with it. Essentially, I attempt to be the best version of myself as often as possible. I do that on the platform also.
Does that make me a role model to others? I would like to think it does in some fashion; And also to think others look at what I write, how I engage and behave on the platform and take something away that they can apply within their own real-life and steemit life.

Thanks. I figured I might as well throw my hat in the ring. I think in some 520 days of steemit this is the first time I have "entered" a contest.
It's very telling that when values are down certain users simply disappear; Accounts that normally post relentlessly seem to vanish completely. Oh well, I guess for all their talk of community and engagement their actions speak more loudly than their words.
For me, well...I see it as a bit of an opportunity to possibly get the attention of someone who may otherwise not bother with my account and so have kept posting.
No matter what happens with this contest the lack of any real crypto-value doesn't diminish the enjoyment I get from writing and so I keep doing it. I went to Strathalbyn today and took some pictures so have some more stuff to write about. Stay tuned. :)
Consistency and thoughtful, meaningful engagement is the key and you've done plenty of that indeed. Same with your content, always find it full of effort, enjoyable and top notch ^^

I don't think I can participate as I have not been commenting or even upvoting much in recent times. This is not as a result of the slump in prices but because real life stuff keep getting in the way. As to posting, at least I do that more than three times a week. Creating is awesome for me.

Your work is interesting...I don't think I could ever write like that. You should be proud of it. I agree, creating content is enjoyable and for me also a release from the corporate/management role I have for a day job.
