Welcome to the 79th Bitshares State of the Network (BSotN) report. A weekly report focusing on the changes in the ecosystem and track longer term changes in a effort to identify emerging trends and changes in the Bitshares platform.

Bitshares - State of the Network - 18th April 2018

The Bitshares State of the Network Reports seeks to combine raw data from a wide range of metrics and combine them into meaningful information to identify emerging trends and changes in the Bitshares network.

Observation from this week

This section will highlight any observations made while analysing the data.

• The BitShares Blockchain Foundation (@bitshares.fdn) will receive the draft of the legal opinion letter from PaulHasting by the end of the week. There will still be some work to be done on the last details to finish the final version. Afterwards, it will be sent to the legal counsel of Bittrex. Once feedback has been provided, they will publish it on www.BitShares.legal. More info HERE

• @Stan Larimer will be talking at Virginia Tech on April 19th. Dan Larimer graduated from Virginia Tech many years ago and recently did a talk featuring Delegated Proof of Stake blockchains such as Bitshares, Steem and EOS. Stan will revisit the fact that these blockchains spawned from Virginia Tech and then follow it up with seven of the top blockchain trends for 2018. You can find more information HERE

• @Bitspark will be hosting the first Graphene focused meetup in Hong Kong on the 26th of April 2018. The first event will be an introduction for the meetup group and discussions of Graphene projects with follow up meetups set to be discussing specific projects in the Graphene ecosystem like DEXs (Bitshares), decentralised social networks (Steem) and future projects (EOS). • Trusty.Fund has announced a mobile investment wallet based on BitShares. The product is designed to be simple to use as a solution for new users or people who do not have the financial background for trading. Beta testing is available on mobile browsers http://trusty.fund and Android App, iOS coming soon. Trust.Fund has asked users to limit the amount of their portfolio to no more than 1% in the TRUSTY token during the testing phase. Trusty is fully open-source at Github they also have a Telegram Chat. More info HERE

• Easydex this week announced their open beta launch of EasyDex.Net. EasyDex is a new company creating services and providing an interface for the Bitshares platform with the goal to provide transparent highly needed services to the crypto space. Easydex has created a password recovery option by giving the user the option to store an encrypted copy of their password with EasyDex during account creation. You can find more information HERE

• This week HUOBI.PRO has listed Bitshares/USDT trading pair on their exchange following Bitshares/Bitcoin trading pairs added a few weeks ago.

• The Beyond Bitcoin Bitshares weekly hangouts have now moved to the Discord platform. You can join the Bitshares Discord HERE and also catch the latest hangouts streamed live on YouTube HERE
