Who is Satoshi Nakamoto?

This 'symbolic' character who wrote in a cryptographic email a 'whitepaper' in October 2008 about a story already well known to many. Since then
many are the self-proclaimed, trying to prove themselves the authorship of the brilliant invention of Bitcoin.

According to CoinTelegraph, various journalistic investigations have attempted to discover the person or groups of individuals responsible for the creation of Bitcoin, but Satoshi's real identity remains unknown to this day.

Until now, as the medium indicates; the community and the press have obtained numerous results of who could be the real Satoshi, none of whom has been confirmed so far. Even the CIA in the middle of last year indicated at the request of a journalist that it could not confirm or deny the existence of Nakamoto.

However, there are at least nine possible candidates who have been mentioned as the possible author.

Vili Lehdonvirta

38 year old teacher at the Institute of Information Technology in Helsinki. It came to light when a New Yorker journalist during his search for the creator of Bitcoin, ran into his name as a good candidate for October 2001, who used to be a programmer of video games and virtual currencies.

However, once contacted, he denied such privilege.

Shinichi Mochizuki

Japanese mathematician of 49 years of the University of Kyoto. Mochizuki half-solved one of the great mysteries of mathematics: the ABC conjecture, enough evidence for Ted Nelson to consider him as the real Satoshi in May 2013. Seven months later, Mochizuki denied such accusation.

Dorian Nakamoto

On March 6, 2014, Newsweek published an extensive article written by journalist Leah McGrath Goodman, who identified Dorian as the original creator of Bitcoin.

This brilliant computer engineer apparently admitted being part of Bitcoin's invention, according to the journalist's words, but later indicated that he had no connection and that this work would have been entrusted to other people.

However, such assertions were denied by Dorian himself in a full interview with The Associated Press.

Nick Szabo

Pointed out by Forbes journalist Andy Greenberg in an article on March 25, 2014, Hal Finney has been speculated many times as the real Satoshi Nakamoto among other reasons, for being who received the first BTC transaction from the same creator.

Finney denied during his existence the authorship of the creation of Bitcoin. He died on August 28, 2014 at his home in Phoenix at the age of 58, after five years of fighting against a sclerosis.

Craig Wright

On December 8, 2015, Wirde published an article written by Andy Greenberg and Gwern Branwen that argued that an Australian academic named Craig Wright "invented Bitcoin or is a brilliant trickster who wants us to believe he did it."

Wright on May 2, 2006, publicly stated that he was the creator of Bitcoin. To date, Wright continues to claim that he is Satoshi Nakamoto, despite the rebuttal of relevant evidence surrounding his self-proclamation. In networks, it is known as a mockery like "FakeSatoshi".

Neal King, Vladimir Oksman and Charles Bry

In October 2013, journalist Adam Penenberg wrote an article for Fast Company, citing circumstantial evidence suggesting that this trio was Satoshi Nakamoto.

The theory revolves around the patent application made by these scientists in August 2008 called "Computationally impractical to reverse", which was also used in the official document published by Nakamoto in October of that year. Similarly, the name of the domain bitcoin.org was registered three days after the presentation of the patent.

The three men denied being Nakamoto when Penenberg contacted them

Elon Musk

In what appears to be one of Nakamoto's most absurd theories to date, Sahil Gupta, who claims to be a former SpaceX intern, wrote a post on Hacker Noon speculating that Elon Musk was probably Satoshi Nakamoto, due to his background in Economics , experience in software and innovation history.

This information was soon refuted by Musk himself.

Government Agency
