I WENT TO THE BITCOIN CITY OF THE WORLD: ARNHEM - Adventure blog #9

Yesterday I went to the city with the biggest bitcoin acceptabilty of the world! You might think the city I mean is New York or Tokyo, but no. The city I mean is Arnhem, a pretty small city in the east side of the Netherlands.

My father and I are both Cryptocurrency fan, after the bitcoin fork we had some bitcoin cash. We've exchanged it to bitcoin and decided to spend it to see how accepted bitcoin actually is. The first plan was to go to Amsterdam but after some research we discovered that THE bitcoin city of the WORLD is established in our small country!

It was a pretty bad day regarding the weather but it was the first time I visited this city so I was still curious.
After walking in the city after 5 minutes we discovered the first Bitcoin accepted place: Burger King!
This was the moment of truth: Our first payment with bitcoin in real live. When we told the cashier employee that we wanted to pay with bitcoins she was a bit surprised and shocked. She had no idea how it works. Pretty bad for 'The Bitcoin city of the world' and especially for such a big retail chain as Burger King. Although I have to say that this is one of the few Burger King's who accepts bitcoin.

The Cashier employee she called the manager to help her and then I made this picture of his face what precicoucsly describes what he thinks: What The F*CK! This shows how many payments there are actualy how many payments are made with bitcoin: not that much.
The funny part was that if you pay with bitcoins the discount was that you get an extra whopper if you order one, they must misunderstood us because we received 4 whoppers instead of 2. We gave the other 2 to an homeless guy.

The next shop who accepted bitcoins was a perfumery, a very special one because this perfumery doesn't sell brands who are really commercial like dior or chanel. They only sell the best of the best perfums who are made by people with a passion for perfume. They were expensive as hell, must say that.
After we talked to the owner of the store and told him that we came here because this is the only perfumery in the Netherlands where you can pay with bitcoins he was very excited. He let us test a dozen of perfumes. That because I think he thought that we had a lot of money because of the bitcoins. He once had someone with a really big order and that person paid with bitcoin. The perfumes were really exclusive and expensive and they all had a different story behind them. The blue ones all have a activity as smell. Like golfing or reading in a library. They really smell realistic which was excited. The third shop where we spent our bitcoins was a lunch room. Again the owner was really happy and excited about the bitcoi acceptabilty in the city. What seems, 2 entrepeneurs who have a company called the Bitcoin kassa made this all happen. So 2 entrepeneurs with an idea to let the acceptability of the bitcoin grow made the bitcoin city of the world! They just asked people with a shop in Arnhem if they were interested in bitcoin and if so they will setup a wallet and everything. Very cool.
After a day of spending bitcoin my dad and I decided to go to the movies. We watched the film Dunkirk in Imax and we've enjoyed it!

Conclusion: Is Arnhem really the bitcoin city of the world?

The answer is probably yes, Arnhem has the biggest acceptabilty of bitcoins but there is still a long way to go before paying with bitcoins is a normal thing. I think soon enough big city's as new york hopefully will focus on bitcoin and spread the bitcoin acceptabilty rise.
