It’s Time to Buy Litecoin
A year ago you could have bought LTC for $4.57. Today it’s trading for $41.05, a tidy 788% gain. Even with the big gains I think there’s more upside for Litecoin ahead, at least 100% before the year is out.
April and May were good months for Litecoin. It got added to Coinbase, making LTC easier than ever to buy.
But the biggest news was the activation of SegWit on the back of a scaling plan and subsequent activation.
With all the positive momentum LTC hit an all-time high of $50 on June 19.
I think the positive momentum can continue, there’s lots of good developments brewing.
Litecoin is working with OpenBazaar for payments.
Blockstream is testing LTC lightning microtransactions.
The Yours network drops BTC for LTC.
Litecoin even has a full-time developer now.
All the network stats, like the number of transactions, active users, and hashrate, are all up as well. You can see the daily transactions over the past six months below.
The one concern is the hashrate distribution. F2Pool has about 50% right now. It’s down from 57% earlier in June but still too high. On the plus side it does seem Charlie Lee and Wang Chun want to resolve the issue.
I think we’ll see more developments and announcements on the horizon that will push up awareness, use, and the LTC price.
MIT is working on some sort of special Litecoin project. Not much info but we should know more by August 1.
If bitcoin scales than I certainly think Litecoin would get a boost too.
Plus whatever is in the 2017 Litcoin roadmap, the link I cannot get to work.

Yea, LTC time!
I bought a small amount of litecoin when it was around $27 and I am glad I did. I see it going above $50 soon and then even higher than that.
$100+ before year is out

nice article! you said that you think litecoin will get a boost if bitcoin gets a best. Just wondering, with the potential hard fork of bitcoin coming up in august, and the potential drop of bitcoin before (due to scared investors), do you think more people will buy litecoin as a safety measure? or will litecoin drop with bitcoin? thanks :)
If BTC splits it will be a negative for the space overall and LTC will probably drop. But then it should rise as it's the natural alternative. LTC should also do well if BTC scales as the overall space will get a boost.
If the rest of the market goes down, litecoin will go down. Hard. They all pretty much go up and down in tandem with alts being more volatile.
If BTC dropped to $800 over the next month, Litecoin would be less than $5. Ethereum, the great foil of bitcoin, would be less than $50 even if it became the official currency of Togo and the European Union joined the Ethereum Alliance.
Note: long about 40 LTC and adding.

Great article in my opinion ltc was long time undervalued and the price was very very low for long time lot of people just gave up on Litecoin they have segwit Lightnening network project yours also upcoming project is coming so I believe for those who stick with ltc and put believe and did not sell they can take profits and they can say yes we were waiting for long time now its worth it to wait little bit .....LTC can be big one day I can see price 100-200usd next year easy ........great technology,Charlie finally quit on coinbase it can be also pump plus new developer they hired ...yes It is finally going good....What do you think about ICO EOS lot of people talking about it I wrote article check it out https://steemit.com/bitcoin/@mrmoneymaken/eos-on-fire-kraken-exchange-buy-now
