Why Bitcoin Is Poised For Massive Growth In 2018
Yes, bitcoin has been through the rigger this year. Many hard forks, a civil war and just overall stuff in the world and bitcoin is still stronger then ever! That goes to tell you something about bitcoin and how much it if valued by people.
I don't feel there is to much growth to happen over the next month and a half till we hit 2018 in which I feel mass adoption and things are going to happen that push bitcoin to all new highs and simply breaks away from everything else. $8,000 per bitcoin is going to feel like a drop in the bucket after these moves in 2018 I do believe.
Wall street adoption
Once investors and people with large funds are able to start investing into bitcoin in some way the price is going to sky rocket. When large investors are given the opportunity to buy (currently many are blocked) they will bring in billions of dollars worth of new market cap into bitcoin and yes bitcoin alone (possible Ethereum)
What you need to understand is if its accepted into the stock market it is only BITCOIN that is accepted no other cryptos and options wont be given either or at least at first.
I do believe we wont see this till 2018 simple due to confusing tax laws thus giving people a full year to try to make sense of it if they invest in 2018 instead of late December.
Lightning network continues to grow
Lightning network is a stepping stone to help relieve high fees and transactions on the bitcoin network. While still in testing Lightning network has made a successful transaction off chain from bitcoin to litecoin called an off-chain atomic swap. This leaves no record on either of the block chains freeing up transaction fees and near instant transactions of currencies. Once rolled out this will also allow for decentralized cryptocurrency exchanges rushing it yet another advancement in cryptocurrency that only bitcoin is behind.
It's important to note this is the first time ever something like this has been possible in the cryptocurrency world and when implemented will advance crypto into the future allowing for lower fees, faster transactions for every crypto which uses segwit (not segwit2x). After fully tested and used this new technology could render centralized exchanges useless which would be a good thing granted all of the closures, issues and just flat out thieves that are operating exchanges now.
I have to agree with you @bitcoinflood.
BTC will get the lion's share of the Wall Street money, at least initially. That means the billions that will start to flow in the first half of 2018 will find its way into BTC. After that, you could see alt-coins getting a boost.
Wall Street doesnt care about transmission speed, block sizes, or anything else technical. They only care if they can sell it to their investors (which they can).

I definitely don't doubt 2018 will be huge for bitcoin. Though it is 99% speculation and nothing more than just an opinion. Some solid sources backing up your hypothesis would do you and your readers a lot of justice. Else this article is just vapor.
