Do You Drive For Uber?
Well if you live in the EU or Australia you could be in for a nice surprise with bitcoin now being an option for people to pay you!
Coinbase has partnered up with the company WeGift.
It allows crypto to be transferred into giftcards and transfers are free - a nice touch-
Along with this to give it a bit of a jump start they are offering retailer giftcards with a small bonus from anywhere at 8% on Ted Baker to Uber at 2% and Careefour at 1%
Now while this is an ok move it still make it that a middle man is needed which to me still is not the right direction for cryptocurrency to go.
What needs to happen is the block chain needs to be able to handle those transactions but will that time ever come?
To me it still seems a few years off as scaleability issues continue to come up and other flaws. Grated cryptocurrency is still rather new.
What are your thoughts on this? Will you be using it yourself?
I would not be using it but it demonstrates the potential that could lead to centralized companies offering similar digital wallets on the blockchain. These wallets could integrate with crypto for payments. For example, I use the Starbucks wallet and would love for it to integrate directly into my Litecoin wallet!
Exactly there still seems to be the middle man step which really is lame. If its ever going to be really adopted and use it needs t do more on its own.
In Turkey government trying to forbid Uber. I really want to live a country like these ..
That's a shame I use Uber pretty often when traveling its quick and easy and honestly better then calling a cab company
