Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) states the determination of the price of fresh milk in the country should take sides and provide benefits for local dairy farmers. Thus, breeders can be more prosperous and able to increase its production capacity.

Director of Processing and Marketing of Animal Husbandry of Kementan, Fini Murfiani said that the determination of milk price at the farmer level needs to pay attention to the components of production, ranging from maintenance, feed to post-dairy.

This is also in order to support the efforts of the Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) encourage an ideal price agreement between the Association of Milk Cooperatives Indonesia (GKSI) with Milk Processing Industry (IPS) and Importers.

"So the price is really ideal, the determination should be in accordance with the expenses and production costs of the breeders.This must be considered correct," he said in Jakarta, Friday (20/4/2018).

According to him, the pricing must also be in line with the Regulation of the Ministry of Agriculture (Permentan) Number 26 of 2017 on Milk Distribution, which focuses on the production component of farmers. Therefore, this production component is the determining factor to achieve the target of increasing the quantity and quality of Fresh Milk Internal (SSDN).

Against IPS and Importers, Kementan also emphasized that partnership with local dairy farmers focuses on improving milk productivity and quality. For the future, the price of fresh milk is increasingly competitive so that it benefits both parties who are partnering.

"The price of fresh milk can fluctuate, if more efficient it will be more competitive so it benefits all parties," he said.

In order to meet the target, Fini has appealed all IPS and importers who have received evaluation of partnership proposal to immediately implement the program to local farmers.

"It is welcome to immediately start implementing its partnership program, let it not over time," he said.

Coordination between ministries related to SSDN, according to Fini, has been aligned to the target fulfillment of 40 percent of national milk demand by 2020. Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) and Kemendag also always coordinate with Kementan related affairs of this milk.
