We have a lot of them around here, always nearby water, either river or lake. Beaitiful creature!
Some very graceful big birds around the world.
They do look so regal, I neverr saw them in South Africa but I did see many of them in Uganda
Uganda have the Grey crowned crane, another strikingly beautiful bird. National Bird of Uganda

YEs I remember seeing lots of those there especially at the conference centre I was once at but I think I did see a couple of the blue crane but I could be wrong that was a few years ago
Apparently the Blue Crane goes up as high as Botswana, there are many cranes throughout the world normally close to water.
I see I didn't know that and yes where I saw them was near the water of Lake Victoria I do believe
Lake Victoria is a massive stretch of water, you must have seen so much up in that region. Envious, never been up there.
Ohh ye sit is huge for sure, I think I visited it in a few points and in three Countries, and yes I am truly lucky I have got to travel and see many interesting spots some of them amazingly beautiful, and some so sad to see the state after war

That bird looks so beautiful! I've never met our National Bird yet, the Philippine Eagle. Apparently its in the endangered species list.
Too many birds are on the endangered list, ours is also due to flying into power lines, natural water ways being claimed by humans and other crazy things.
Our's is sad because it's because of shooting, trapping and deforestation.
