दूसरे दिन वह भट पूजा लेकर आ गया। अब सूरदास ने
लगाई कि भगवान जल्दी आओ भोग लगाओ, मक्खन रोटी
खाओ। लेकिन दूसरा आदमी बैठा था इसलिए बिल्ली नहीं आयी । तो
सरदास बोला अरे भगवान जल्दी पधारो म्हारो काम सुधारो। '
बिल्ली ताक रही थी मौका देखते ही रोटी ले भागी और सूरदास
का मन बड़ा प्रसन्न हुआ और बोला कि देख भक्त भगवान आये और
भोग लगा गये । भक्त ने कहा कि नहीं महाराजयह बिल्ली है भगवान
तो नहीं है।
सूरदास ने कहा भगवान अनेक रूप धारण कर सकते है तू
नुगरा है इसलिए तो तुम्हें बिल्ली दिख रही है। भक्त ने कहा कि
महाराज यह बिल्ली तो हमारे मोहल्ले में ही रहती है। कुछ दिन से यह
ताजी-मोटी हुई है शायद यही माल खा-खा कर मोटी ताजी हुई है।
तब सूरदास ने कहा कि अरे भईया यह तो रोज हमको झूठा
खिलाती है तुम कोई उपाय बताओ ।
