Original Rocky Road Ice Cream - Omnipollo w/ Buxton Brewery
Beer Review
Original Rocky Road Ice Cream is a 10% alcohol/volume Imperial Double Porter made by Omnipollo in collaboration with Buxton Brewery in Buxton, England. Omnipollo is an award winning beer maker that was founded in 2011 by Henok Fentie and Karl Grandin. They create the beer recipes and then travel to different breweries across the globe to craft the delicious ales. The Original Rocky Road Ice Cream was a marshmallow porter, brewed with cocoa nibs and lactose sugar.

The Bottle
The bottle of the Original Rocky Road Ice Cream features what looks like a little turquoise turd running away... but I suppose it's meant to be a scoop of Rocky Road Ice Cream? I can assure you, the beer does not taste like shit. The artwork for this bottle was done by Karl Grandin, one of the founders of Omnipollo. The label did not scare me away from trying this. The name Original Rocky Road Ice Cream sold me.
The Beer
I tried this beer in Ireland when I was visiting @cneck last month. It wasn't as good as the name suggests, but it was certainly a flavorful and strong porter. It was very rich with a taste of chocolate and peanut. As you can see in the photo above, I poured the Original Rocky Road Ice Cream into a glass. It formed a thin head which bubbled away slowly. Overall it definitely had the Omnipollo-style to it and it was a fairly enjoyable porter.

They say risk only comes from not knowing what you are doing.
hmmm....interesesting. It has indeed a name that got my interest and curiosity:p
plus the color its different...why it is so 'blackish'?
That’s the style of beer. Porters and Stouts are really really dark and rich :)
That's some label -- and quite a beer concept, too. I'm not sure I want ice cream and beer at the same time. Although I have had some great ice cream with beer in it, lol.
Beer flavored ice-cream?! Wow ... I can only imagine!
Does it have an alcohol content?
I'll Drink to that!
What a friend, what a great experience, how much beer was that?

Hello my friend @jeffjagoe, how about your weekend ?. Here in Venezuela it is getting hot, like to have a spectacular beer like this one. I love chocolate with peanuts and in beer it would be interesting to try to see how. Good beer has Ireland too, I wanted to see a beer from Ireland and you did not show them, thanks friend.
