Dragon’s Milk Reserve: Banana Coconut is an 11% American/Imperial Double Stout brewed by New Holland Brewing Company in Holland, Michigan. New Holland opened in 1997 when two guys started making and selling beer in their pub on Fairbanks Avenue. They later moved and upgraded their production facility following the success of their acclaimed stout, Dragon's Milk. Today we focus on the Dragon's Milk Reserve: Banana Coconut. A bourbon barrel aged imperial stout, aged with real bananas and natural coconut flavors.

The Bottle

Dragon’s Milk Reserve: Banana Coconut is served in a 4 pack of 12oz glass bottles. It looks similar to the original Dragon's Milk label, but instead a light yellow band reads the words RESERVE - Banana Coconut. The Reserve lets you know that this is made in limited quantities. A white silhouette of a perched dragon is on the label.

The Beer

Dragon’s Milk Reserve: Banana Coconut was definitely a flavorful treat. The banana flavor really shines through in this one. When I poured it into a glass it formed a very thin head of foam that dispersed away quickly. It was not a beer that you want to drink a lot of, especially with an 11% alcohol content, but drinking one of these is definitely a nice experience. I look forward to trying more beers from New Holland Brewing Company in the future.
