In Pictures - SARS Beer and Music Festival

I have just returned from the town Sinj where a small beer and music festival was held this weekend. It was awesome!

The Sinj Meeting of Amateur Rock Groups (S.A.R.S.) is an alternative culture and music festival organised by the Sinj Cultural Urban Movement (S.K.U.P.) team. You can visit it every summer at the end of July for over ten years now. It started in 2003, with the original idea of promoting amateur rock groups from all over Croatia.

It matured over time and was joined by some foreign bands as well. Needless to say, that is great for the city’s tourism score. Some of the bigger names that appeared over the years are: Let 3, Dubioza kolektiv, Dječaci, Gužva u 16-tercu, Massimo Savić, T.B.F., Gustafi, Raising Dream, Cold Snap, Father...




Other than just the music, the S.K.U.P. association has also organised a number of accompanying events: performances, literary evenings, showings as well as workshops on different subjects. This year, beer was the focus.

The festival jumped on the craft beer train and had a decent offering of the newest brews. Nothing was really mind blowing but a few deserved tasting. It was interesting to see that all the beers cost the same so you could get a really good deal on some, while others felt a bit overpriced. You could have played it safe and just binged on heavy liquor at a discount prices. A shot of anything for only 1.60$. Well played guys!
