Why Girls Love Makeup

Bobbi Brown, CHANEL, Laura Mercier, Trish McEvoy, MAC, YSL, DIOR, Charlotte Tilbury, Guerlain, and the list goes on and on.  Every brand is competing for customers.  Who has the best bronzer, highlighter, waterproof mascara?  Revlon dupes for MAC?  NYX dupes for Stila Cosmetics?  Why is the beauty industry so saturated with an array of cosmetic choices - it's sometimes overwhelming for those who don't know how to navigate through say, Nordstrom's beauty department.  

Recently, I brought one of my cousins to the Nordstrom Beauty Dept (she's more interested in clothing/fashion industry) and she was SO overwhelmed!  Poor girl!  She only needed a powder foundation.  I left her to be savaged by all the Beauty Brand Experts since I had my own makeup purchase agenda at the CHANEL beauty counter.  Cousin found me 20 minutes later and asked, "Which powder should I buy?!  There's so many to choose from-I'm confused what to get!".  I helped find one that works on her budget and it was fun.

This is where it all begins.  The beauty world is a vast place of wanderlust products you just test and try according to your own skin type, skin tone, body chemistry, and budget.  And it's fun figuring out which products work best at what stage in life you're at (think hormones as you age)!  I am not a scientific body hormone expert (is there even such a title?), no, I am merely one of millions of women who is also on the constant search of which brand, type, color/shade of makeup works best for me.  And it's just fun.  Plain and simple.  It's just what some of us women are into - and love playing with - similar to that of a male into sports.  They just love it!
